I'm having some trouble with this game, at first I thought maybe it was user error, so I troubleshot it.
tried windowed screen, tried reducing quality, tried updating video card drivers, tried running in windows compatibility mode, tried reinstalling, tried updating to 1.02 game update,  and finally got the xpansion hoping the updates would fix it...nope.

If you take a look at the screenshots you can see the problem. I have no textures whatsoever in character creation or in game mode. Just the character base models, some spell polygons and 3 or 4 colors.

Should also mention I have no troubles with any other games, no overheating, and the title screen and videos for this game work fine.
Also if you notice the icons and minimap/user interface all that stuff has loaded correctly. Even the terrain is correctly loaded.

Oh, and the game works wonderfully besides..well the lack of any textures, lol

Only thing I've been able to find similar are people reporting lots of issues with 8600 to the 9800gtx with artifacting polygons etc. Which makes sense since the 8800gt is the 9800gt and so forth.

The question here is why, and how do i fix it =/

Nevermind looked at wrong thing eh
"(you "ninjad me)"

Might be a problem with windows 7 64 bit.... since its not really supported.

Have seen someone with 7 64bit problems helped by using -Dx9  on target and running in xp sevice 3.  But he just had fps drops.

8800GT won't support DX11 exclusive features, but will still work with DX11/10/9/8 games in DX10/9/8 mode.

Also according to the DxDiag I'm running DX 10

" DDI Version: 10"

it's worth a shot, I'll give it a go. Have a friend with an almost identical setup, only difference being 8800gt vs 8800m gts, and amd dual core vs core 2 duo.

Still on win 7 64bit, and same drivers and his works fine, haha.

Going to give Direct X 9 a shot though, I could see that working, or at least helping.

EDIT: Still nothing, going to give Sun Virtualbox a shot and see if just maybe that'll work.

Also you could try

starting the game.

Get to main menu, and alt tab out.

Open task manager or alt ctrl del

goto processes, daorigins.exe

right click it

Set affinity, and uncheck all cores except for cpu0 and try that...

(restart game?)

Thats all i got though for ideas.

(as long as your diretx 9.0c is up to date)
