Anyone else always lured back to a single class?

I find rogue's and mages offering much more creativity and exploration, since they offer far more interesting and fun ways to kill stuff. I love spell combos.

All my characters would be mages if they weren't confined to one origin, if there were a city elf mage I'd play nothing else. But now that the idea of replaying the circle origin makes me physically ill I keep making rogues, I just seem to get bored of my warrior characters.
Well "city elf" mages are in the circle, not in the alienage. But there is a mod on Nexus for a Dalish elf Mage if you are interested. You get the Dalish origin though I understand there are some funny issues with poeple in the tower thinking you were there instead lol I have it but haven't played it past ostagar yet.

Oh, that could be fun. You could accuse them all of being racist because all elves must look the same for them to see you and assume they've seen you all the time at the Circle.
You humans are all racist!

Now, now, don't go admitting to something like that! That's a sign of terribly poor taste.sylvanaerie wrote...

Oh, and to whomever mentioned the spell combos... good call on that one. I absolutely love the spell combos. Never before in a game have I felt a little surge of twisted glee when a party member has been immobilized by an enemy's spell in the way that I do in this game, because here I know that I can not only counter that Crushing Prison spell on my warrior, but also blast all of the enemies surrounding that character with the effects of the combo resulting from casting a Force Field on him. ('course, I also enjoy the "ohhhhhh crap" moments when I realize I've just cast a glyph of paralysis too close to my glyph of repulsion-protected mage, and everyone in the immediate vicinity gets frozen for however long that effect lasts. I do that lot. ... good fun)
All the game needs is a couple more such combos, and there'll be a potential for tactical mage combat that'll put the BG series stuff to shame, if it doesn't already. As it is, I find that more often than not, I still find I'm wishing I'd chosen such n' such a spell, because while the enemy had the first half of the combo down, I didn't have the right spell to complete the job.
Absolutely love the notion of essentially taking an enemy's power and turning it to my own advantage. But that just solidifes the opinion of someone who's always been a junkie for magic in games like this one.
And of course, there's also the "Muwahahahaha!" feeling you get when blasting something to kingdom come. That's good, too. *nods soberly*

Definately Rogue. Would be perfect if they had nice looking gear (the only real advantage of warriors).
My rogues and up doing far more damage than my warriors. Agree about the suck armor.
I do wish there were other mage origins, such as apostate or wilder shaman. And i wish dwarves could be mages. They would dominate my mage playthroughs.

There are 3 other warriors (ser gilmore mod) in my group already and if I'm a rogue I don't have to take Leliana with me to unlock things. It just makes the most sense to be a rogue.

Dwarves as mages would cause so much trouble...I mean, can you really imagine them allowing the human Chantry to steal some incredibly talented fighters?
Exactly. I would sooo love to see them try and send their templars in man-dresses to Orzammar to take some dwarf's kid.
Good times.

If Dwarves had mages, they might not have been forced to develop technology. Being too dependent on magic and not on intellect is meeeh.
I prefer the Dwarves (and the Qunari) being the technological geniuses.

Oh, I dunno. Tevinter hasn;'t been having too many problems keeping the Qunari at bay, canons and all. Magic is developing the mind. Force of will is just as important as intellect.

Rogues are also a great deal of fun to play.
Warriors -- not so much, but I do love the armor.

I love Sword and Shield Warriors specced as Champions. (War Cry FTW).
^ This.
Warriors seem to remain my favorite in not just DA, but in all games I play (with the exception of Guild Wars and Everquest, in which case it reverts to Cleric). All RPGs, tabletop games, etc.... I just like warriors. Following that, rogues. Mages come up third, for me, which I find a little odd because I usually love being a cleric as well. Something about magic in DA doesn't quite connect with me.

Finished one DW warrior - I thought it was okay, trying to talk myself into playing a 2H warrior, but maybe later. Planning a sword and shield Dwarf noble.
One mage playthrough was okay, will try it again later.
The funny thing is that I usually play a Paladin in DnD based games as my first choice.
