i enjoy mages and warriors just cant get into a rogue as a pc but like using them in the party.
worst for me is characters with archery focus too dull to use and rediculously good in da:a
Anyone else always lured back to a single class?

I love to play as Princess slice, which basically means I do coming back to the rogue/DW combination. I just love that big things are dead before they were able to hit me, due to high dex and stab stab kill modus
Also I hate that I'm forced to bring a rogue with me when I want to open chests or disarming traps, (console player here, so no mods) so I do the job rather myself.

I prefer to play mages in most games where it’s possible, it something very satisfying about throwing a fireball at the enemy or paralyzing them with a spell and the spell combos in this game are awesome. If there where more mage origins I would have made more mages but even when not playing a mage it seems I end up controlling Morrigan or Wynne most of the time instead of my character. I also found DW rogues very entertaining with moves like whirlwind and punisher but I don’t like archers so rogues are not a favourite in general and they lack good armour.
Warrior class in general felt like something the rogue could do while also being able to pick locks. Sword and shield was acceptable but it felt weird to hit enemies with the shield all the time- there is a reason for having a weapon with a pointy end, why not use it? I just finished a two hand warrior and that was definitely the last time, it was incredibly frustrating that she was so slow.

Rogues for me. I crave versatility, and loathe being party dependant.

I prefer warrior despite it being the hardest class to play.

Rogue.
Who cares if they're squishy, they need to be hit first.

2H Rogue for me. There's just something about dual wielding that appeals so much to me. Warrior is close behind though. I'm just not that into mages.

I always go back to the rouge. I always get SO ANNOYED in the beginning of the game when you have locked chests and no one to open them.

rogues and warrior tie for me... love the stat/armor benefits a warrior has... but being able to disarm traps/open chests/persuade/intimdate feels more natural as a rogue/steal/duel wield...
wow.... a rogue is sorta like the ME's sentinel....

Mage.
If I have to micromanage every step of combat for one character, it's going to be _my_ character and mages have the least tactic-able abilities of any class I've tried so far.
Also, I dislike the npc mages. Being one gets me out of having to take them sometimes.

Rogue-human noble and elf, warrior-Human noble.
I like rogue because I enjoy the duel wielding aspect. Once you have dex, will and your dual wielding moves down you can tear some **** up especially if you wear light armor with bonus stats (Shadow of the Empire or Warden Shadow Armor). Plus I like being able to pick locks and get into chests for looting. Leaves me room to bring in tanks and mages.
Have done warrior once and I love me some shield bashing. However I really miss the variety moves I get from a rogue and missed the looting a lot. I don't like going two-handed as it is way to slow for me, so did not branch into that area. So I leave the tanking to Sten, Alistair and Oghren. Then I am free to arch away as well.

I've completed...five playthroughs...I think...yeah, five (so many I've started then gotten bored of).
1 has been a mage (first playthrough)
3 have been rogues (1 HN and 2 Dalish)
1 warrior (city elf)
I want to finish a playthrough with my warrior dwarf noble but as much as I like the dwarves in DA I just can't seem to get very far playing one before becomming disinterested. Similarly attempting to play an arcane warrior mage has also bored me to tears.

Mages, the other classes weren't as fun for me. No clue why, as I usually play fighter/warrior kind of classes. Which is probably why I like playing as an Arcane Warrior. Also, it is probably because the mage class has its own origin and the class itself is more tied to the story than the other classes.

I find myself drawn to the warrior class as well. I just enjoy feeling that my characters are really powerful. Like they can take a really powerful attack and still be above 60% HP. With mages and rogues, you take three hits from a really powerful enemy and you're dead. I don't like being the mouse in a cat and mouse fight. When a powerful warrior, you're always on the front lines, and you're never trying to run away from an enemy to avoid being brutally murdered. The opposite is actually true. You're purposely drawing the enemies to you because you're just that great.

Rogue for me. I've played through *counts backward* seven times. Five of those were rogues. Interestingly, I usually play caster types, so my first two characters were mages. But the circle tower was rather boring, so then I started trying out the other origins. Once I stumbled upon the HN/DW rogue combo, I haven't been able to stick with anything else. I've never completed a warrior run-through. While the armor and weapons are cool, the combat is boring to me. Spec a rogue the right way and you have a truly awesome fighter and wordsmith capable of getting into and out of any situation.

DW warriors. I have no idea why but I love it. You don't have to feel guilty for not stealthing or not disarming traps because you can't do it anyway.

Mages. I just can't get enough of them. I love the whole balancing act between personal responsibility and willpower, and the whole idea of the Fade and the dangers within and what lays beyond.

Rogues are my favorite to play by a long shot. I've wanted to try a dual-wielding warrior since I got the game, but I can't shake the feeling that it it just a boring wannabe rogue sacrificing the awesome stealth/assassination abilities for more survivability..
Mages are fun as well but are rather overpowered in Dragon Age.
I've played both a 2h dps warrior and a tank and neither are anywhere near as fun to play as a rogue or a mage.
Just wanna chip in and
say that this bothers me to no end as well. The things you get add up
to only a few silvers but it still drives me up a wall.

Honestly I am super hooked on the game and it drives me crazy that I keep going back to rogue (I have made many other characters, but ALWAYS go back to rogue). The fact that rogues open up so much more with stealth, lockpicking, high coercion and such that I feel like the characters are broken if I can't do all that. I wish I could get over that, but I am spoiled by the rogue class I think. I do like playing the rogue mind you (obviously) but with mage and fighter and the sub classes of them I feel like I'm only playing a third of the game I could.

Rogue for me, which is really odd. I usually HATE the rogue class, or anything to do with it. I'm nearlly always a caster in any game I play, it just sort of fits me.. but I feel like there's more roleplaying aspect as a rogue then other classes, especially mages. Now, I find mages very fun, but because of the 1 single origin, I just don't see many ways to play them, they all sort of come out as clones..
But as a rogue, you can have literally anything. Warriors would be fun, but the fact that you need a mage with Haste to make them endurable (can't stand slow weapons) sort of annoys me, since I hate both mages in Origins.. so yeah, rogues.

My current count of completed playthroughs is 14 Warriors, 6 Rogues, and 4 Mages. Guess I trend towards Warriors?
Although I am warming up to Mages - I was severely biased against them because of the DnD/NWN magic system, but they are much funner to play in DA. I just enjoy all the gear choices that warriors have, and find hacking & slashing & bashing stuff a great way to blow off steam...which is the point of playing, right?
