I am trying to get the achievement to teach level 60. I am doing my 2nd playthrough on hardcore. So I am at level 30 doing all the side missions after becoming a Spectre and became commander of the Normandy. Do I still have a shot at reaching level 60 by the end or even before the final missions?

If you're only at level 30, I seriously doubt it. Is this the same character that you played through the first time? It takes 806,600 experience to go from level 30 to 60, I'd think you'd need to start your playthrough at closer to 55 to have a chance to hit 60. If you're very completionist with a new character (not your very first) you can hit 57 in one pass. But even then it's around 2/3 of a play through to 60.

Here's a link to the xp requirements. http://masseffect.wi...wiki/Experience

After my first playththrough I unlocked levels 51-60. So I could not start at level 55 because it ends at level 50 in my 1st playthrough. Are you sure I cannot reach  level 60 because I have not even rescued Liara yet or even Bring Down the Sky Missions ar the other chapters. I just ended chapter 1 at the citadel and doing post side missions after scouting planets.

If you were playing your original character. (I will assume you got to 50) I really don't think you could make it. If you started a brand new character there is no way. Level 50 starts at 238,100, level 60 at 862,100. It's just too much experience required.

If I start a fresh character (not one restricted to 50 by the first play through) and I do every side quest, collect every mineral, find all the salerian medallions, turian colonies, asari writings, prothean data disks, kill everything on foot I can get to 57 minus the two dlc. That does however included all the xp bonuses from achievements. I could probably get 58 with the dlc.

Since, it looks like you started a fresh character (since you're only at level 30), I think you can probably hit the mid 50's on this play through and 60 on your next pass with the same character. If you were playing on the PC you could use the console, but unless you use an xp exploit (Therum save/load trick) There is just no way to get enough xp.

Do you know if the Pinnacle Station Add on is sort of like a gladitorial arena where you can fight as many times as you want to get a bunch of load experience?

You only get experience there the first time you complete the missions. I've played both DLC's multiple times. I've probably played through a total of 40-45 times. You just can't make it to 60 in one play through it's not going to happen.

So I should use my first play through profile at level 50 to get the achievement? If I do that, will I be able to appropriate the amount of skill points to my character or are they the same from last play through. If this is the case, this is the main reason I started fresh so I can customize the skills to my liking again.

Your skill allocation from the first will carry over.(You can reallocate your npcs' skills for each play through) I'd just continue your current play through. Then you can use the character for an insanity pass, to hit 60 and get both achievements. You will carry over your money, gear and point allocation, but not your choices or renegade/paragon score.

I am playing the Vanguard on my 2nd play through and I really hate this class for ME1. In ME2 Vanguard was awesome with biotic charge, but the Vanguard class is a bit withered down in ME1. I used the soldier class on my 1st play through. Should I use my 1st play through soldier class for the extreme power gamer achievement along with insanity achievement?

I actually like vanguard in me 1.  What sort of build are you using?  Have you picked up you specialization yet?  Just as a general rule of thumb I would play, soldier, engineer and adept first.  That way you can unlock all of the bonus talents.  (singularity is a great bonus for vanguards) .

A vanguard can be a very solid build especially if you are looking for a caster class.  It doesn't have the same straight up damage taking capability that a soldier will (lacking immunity)  but it can do pretty well.  Especially with decent gear (a savant amp and a couple medical exoskeletons)  you can have a perma barrier.  Pistol, with master marksman active, is has the highest dps in the game and is accurate for short and medium range combat.  Max out lift, and throw so that you have crowd control.

http://social.biowar...4/index/2375531  That's a thread I posted and several other people commented on that's got some decent builds and play through advice.

I was rather reticent to play Vanguard in ME2 specifically because it was my least favorite class in ME1. If I did a shotgun build, I'd just as soon play a Soldier. If I concentrated on biotics, I'd just as soon play a Sentinel or Adept. Not to mention I was a hardcore tech power user to start with. Took a lot of videos demonstrating Charge to convince me to put the overload and sniper rifle aside, and break out the close quarter combat mayhem. Love the Vanguard in ME2, but still not feeling the love in ME1.

I suppose it takes three playthroughs of ME1 before you'll reach level 60. First of all, you're restricted to level 50 on the very first playthrough of the game. Once you do that, you can replay that character, but the experience gap between 50 and 60 is just too wide. You'll likely make it to level 59 on the second playthrough, then have to replay the character again to reach level 60.

Alternatively, you play the first time to level 50. Start a brand new character which you can level past 50, but still only reach something like level 57. Then it's another playthrough to reach 60. Three games either way.

Vanguard in ME1 is great once you get set up, IMO (I was half-ready to quit mine at the Krogan on Therum but I'm glad I stuck it out). Grab the Spectre shotgun and slap on heat sink/frictionless (okay maybe I did overkill on that, but anyway...) I had an infinite firing 1-2 killshot weapon that could clear just about anything from across the room. The knockback was nice too.

I'd basically pop barrier (advanced) and run in and just lay waste to everything close & far. I never even used assassination.

'course that was on normal, though I haven't played insanity yet (so I don't know if that would fly) I don't see it being any harder on Hardcore.

As for the biotics I unlocked the throw achievement, but not lift, even though I used it fairly liberally. Anyway, I ended up using them more than I thought I would. Nice when a throw/lift combo clears a room in one shot.

This was my second go at a Vanguard. First time I quit because I wasn't using the biotic and figured I may as well just play a Soldier. Decided to give it another shot and loved it. Unfortunately now, after playing a Vanguard first, I can't go back to straight up weapon classes anymore. :|

I love me some Vanguard in ME1. Shotgun is overpower (at least compared to ME2), using throw and lift to crowd control and get enemies out of cover is great. Although my 2nd go around I used a Sentinel with shotgun training, basically the same thing except having some tech powers is great.

I love my Vangaurd. Though I went a different route with my Spectre shotty; slapped in dual Scram Rails and HE X's.

Thing's a friggen 1 shot death cannon. Almost 1 shot overheat, too. Luckily I use the Spectre Pistol most of the time, modded with dual Scram Rails and Snowblind VIII's.

Which class has the sabotage ability? I looked at every class build but none of them have it. How am I supposed to get the sabotage achievement? I was thinking that the engineer or sentinel might have it but they don't.

I believe you have to unlock it through electronics, but the engineer does have it. I guarantee it.

Inflitrator, Sentinel, and Engineer all have sabotage. Sabotage is the talent unlocked via the skill "decryption".

I still kept the top rank rail extention (29% dmg 20% overheat) x 2, and added a top end high explosive round. You can get two shots off if you use Carnage first, and then fire the basic shot. The weapon force on this is extreme! It took the krogan in Liara's mission off his feet, and he was dead before he stood up. While the other geth in that fight were CC'ed by lift. Easiest time I have had with that encounter is from HE X rounds!

I'm at my first playtrough "normal" with my Infiltrator and I'm at level 36 now. I still have two main missions not done, like "Race against time" and "Virmire". Also some collect submission aren't done, I'm too lazy to find stuff. Not sure what level I should be, but...

Infiltrator can get you the sniper achievement, sabotage, overload, and damping. I believe only the Adept has the singularity ability. Sentinel has neural shock.

I can't remember, did the achievements only work if Shepard used the power, or did it unlock if you directed a squadmate to use the power? I think it's only if Shepard uses it, but if not, then bringing Liara and Kaidan along for several missions could get you singularity and neural shock.

I've done speed playthroughs on easy mode specifically to unlock the power achievement -- wouldn't even finish the game, just unlock the achievement I wanted and then start an actual game.

I'm wondering myself. After my Vanguard run, I magically now have ARs as a bonus talent and I never touched one at all.

EDIT: on second thought, I DID get a Soldier to 26. Might have been enough kills at that point to unlock it.

it's easy to get extreme power gamer achievement...

run straight through the game don't do anything else then do EVERYTHING the 2nd play through

piece of cake right?

and also when you fight stuff with the mako...kill it's life to near death and exit the mako and kill them all and you will get 3 times as much XP then you would if your in the mako....

[example]>killing a Geth Colossal in the mako=120-130 XP
killing a Geth Colossal on foot=370 XP

I think you need to be at lvl 35-40+ to get to lvl 60 on the second play through
