They have to account for 12 different squad mates in ME2 when you can only have a total of two with you at any one time, and who knows which order you recruited them in.
They will return, implementing mates that might be dead are no more difficult then any other optional one, new or no.

I agree, but the person who got killed his entire crew on suicide mission needs to be punished in some way, in this case, the punishment would be: shorter and less attractive gameplay.
And ppl who saved all of the crew, would get more missions, romances, etc.

Its a shame, but it was only that way in the early stages of development for the first Mass Effect. I doubt they will change course for ME 3.

That said I don't think bioware(EA) has the will/ambition/resources to go the distance.(read won't deliver)

I wouldn't be surprised if them all dying is Canon for ME3 since Canon seems to be neutral and no optional quests. any surviving squadies will probably be cameos and there will be some new crew.
Theres no canon in Mass Effect <_<

samara: finished her mission as a justicar and killed her daughter. i cant see much of an epic cameo apearence after this
tali. her loyalty mission leaves waayy to many variables for a cameo appearance. i can see her staying in your squad because her father gave her leave until her mission with you is seen as comeplete. plus her name is vas normandy which means she's apart of your ship.
miranda and jacob: they are rougue agents no longer apart of curberus. they really have no where ells to go.
garrus: quite c-sec and is just a turian vigilante.
legion: i can see him going back to his people preparing for what ever plot twists unfold in ME3
jack: she was in a crayo freeze in a prison when you found her. where do you go from there. i guess i can see her being a wanderer or something to that effect.
grunt: I guess he can go to clan urdnot but i cant see him doing that. he likes a fight and the reapers are a worthy foe. plus he see's shepard as his krant.
thane: i really cant see him being a squad mate. he's deing and will probably not be fit to fight by the time ME3 starts.
mordin: i cant see him in your squad either. he is getting old and does a better job in a science lab then on the battle feild.
so i guess the only ones i can see being squad mates are tali, garrus, jacob, mirnada, and grunt. these seem like a lot and if i had to put it down to 2 characters i would say tali and garrus.

its hard to tell what will happen to the servivors. all the ME1 sevivors seem to be onto bigger and better things but most of the ME2 sevivors joined your crew because they have no where to go. shal i go through them? I will anyways. ( this is considering you did there loyalty missions)

Kitteh if Miri, Garrus, Tali and Jacob are sqaudmates, Jack and Thane will also be sqaudmates.

If you think about, ANY squad mate besides Liara has the possiblity of dieing, so the amount of data to have them playable would be enormous. Bioware would have to create way too much unnecesary dialogs. I'm somewhat dissapointed by this, because there are a lot of characters that I like.
its an ongoing debate. I too realized this, but we have to take a wait and see policy...some people are passionate about some of their ME2 squadmates

i could see miri and jacob returning as squad mates. i mean they dont really have anywhere to go but thane is dying so i will have to disagree with you there.kraidy1117 wrote...

You can't bring back some LI and not bring back the others. Either one LI comes back or none come back and they all get cameos. Including Tali .

Personally, I'd like it if I could go "solo" in ME3. In fact, I'd love the hell out of it.

On, the contrary. Such a person should be rewarded in some way. Becase it's goddamn harder than to keep the team alive. A bonus mission in ME3 should suffice.
