From what I've read on these boards I doubt fans of the other LI's would agree with this statement.

It would be difficult to justify not returning the LIs. The original LIs from ME1 got excluded because players had already had time to romance them and the other options needed time to catch up. All of the LIs from ME2 have as much right to be there as Ashley/Kaidan and Liara.

im pretty sure there wil be no new squad mates in ME3, it would be more logical for you to just get your suvivors from the two previous games. That gives us a potential of 16 squad mates i think, bioware did 12 in ME2, 16 isnt that much of a stretch.



potential ME3 situations for recruitment

Wrex - His Clan gets attacked and wiped out leaving him with you

Grunt/Tali/Garrus/Jacob/Miranda/Jack/kasumi - no where else to go

Samara - If paragon she comes to help you, if renegade she comes to watch you

Morinth - attracted to the one person who refused her advances

Zaeed - joins up just to see it end

Ash/Kaidan - stops being a douche

Liara- gets bored being an info broker

Legion - Conducting research on organics for the geth

Mordin - Team scientist

Thane - is going to keep fighting for shepard till he drops (could be replaced by his son)

Someone else is always going to bump a topic that ends up turning into a giant argument or flamewar, even if it's been posted a million times.

Most people are worried that their favorite character won't return because:

1. They weren't a squadmate in ME2

or

2. They could die in either ME1 or ME2

Shiala and Gianna Parasini are both 1 and 2, while all the squadmates are either 1 or 2.

Lorik Qui'nn, Morlan and Harkin have a better chance of becoming squadmates than either of the two listed above.

I didnt know LIs had such a huge role on whether they are your squadmates in ME3.  I thought this was about stopping the reapers not making love.

I want to play as Dr Chakwas. She can team up with Professor Solus and Dr Michel in ME3. Without the Illusive Man, Shepard is hopelessly lost. Who is left to tell him which planet to visit? Nobody. So it's up to our 3 doctors-intrepid adventurers to save the galaxy!

Your right I pehaps should have chosen my words more carefully. I just mean Jack and thane are dying and Miranda and Jacob are Cerberus. nothing that spells long term relationship. I'm not sure how popular miranda is but I can't see anyone missing Jacob.

I agree, but the person who got killed his entire crew on suicide mission needs to be punished in some way, in this case, the punishment would be: shorter and less attractive gameplay.

Yeh, but you need a certain number of squadmates alive to even survive the mission.  people who loose all of their squamates won;t be able to import that charachter, because they'll be dead.

I have to say that would be pretty damn stupid if they dropped everyone. I mean ME2 is forming the most badass,elite team ever. If everyone just leaves you before the real battle starts, what was the point of ME2?

Miranda and Jacob: They will probably drift apart from Shepard and make a cameo like Ashly or Kaiden.

Mordin: I'm guessing he's only about 31-32 years old so I could see him returning.

Garrus and Tali: They will almost definently be back due to fan requests.

Jack: Depending if you made her sentimental then I could see her leaving.

Grunt: I have no idea, too many variables.

Samara/Morinth: See Grunt.

Thane: Will most likely die unless Bioware cures him due to fans.

Legion: See Samara/Morinth.

Zaeed: Will probly cut loose unless you did his loyalty mission Paragon.

Kasumi: See Zaeed.

I'm guessing most of the outcomes for your crew depend on wether or not you completed thier loyalty mission.

the Collectors?

some squadmates say they'll leave the Normandy (Samara, Jack iirc)
Kasumi and Zaeed are just hired guns...one mission
we don't know how much time will pass between ME2 and ME3. I think some characters have better things to do if the reapers don't attack immediately
Grunt - Tuchanka, Tali - admiral, Morinth does what she does best^_^
some characters could be dead (Thane)

You never punish someone for playing your game.  They may not be rewarded like the perfect completion but to punish them would be idiotic.

I highly doubt Wrex, Aria, and Bailey would be squadmates. As interesting as it would be for them to be squadmates, it wouldn't feel right to me if they were squadmates.

Mordin: He's pushing 50, believe it or not, and could croak at any moment. He better have that damn Genophage cured before he hits his death-bed in ME3.

Samara/Morinth: Definitely leaving, considering both of their stories are resolved.

Jack: Either leaves or stay depending on being an L.I.

Thane: Agreed

Zaeed and Kasumi: Only one mission, not to mention they are DLC items.

Grunt: Either Tuchanka or stays with Shepard.
