 So I got a certain point in the game where when I talked to Liliana she asked me if I really care about her or something or if I wanted to be with Zeveran instead. The only real option I had to reply with was "I will end things with Zeveran."

I DIDN'T EVEN KNOW THERE WAS ANYTHING BETWEEN MY CHARACTER AND ZEVERAN! lol

I was thinking back to dialogue I chose when talking to him that might of lead to a hidden relationship I didn't know about,. And the only thing I could think of was, When he asked me if I was uncomfortable that he was bisexual. I said "no I am fine with it", because I didn't care that he was bisexual. But apparently there was hidden dialogue I didn't see, because from that he got "No I am fine with it, because I'm bisexual too!" lol

I just had to share that, just because of how much it confused the crap out of me. lol
I was actually hoping that when she asked me if I would end things with Zeveran there was going to be a dialogue option that said "WTF are you talking about??" lol

Anyway, does anyone else have interesting stories to tell of things they didn't expect to happen?

Leliana always ninja-romances me. Apparently the easiest way to avoid it is to be rude to her during the hair conversation. Even that doesn't always work, though.

Leliana always managed to ninja-romance me. It's quite irritating, really, since my character is *always* confused later on when the inevitable ninja-love happens.

To be fair, it did say "female." What were you expecting? Although I suppose your character wouldn't have seen that label.

She probably saw Zevran eyeing you and thinks you are leading him on. It can happen to the best if you are not careful...

Well I wasn't looking for a romance with Zevran so I really didn't mind her ninja-romancing me lol.



Also when I went back to talk to Zevran he went "So I guess it is over between us then?"

I was looking for the option to say, "There was nothing between us!!" lol

Oh, like Leliana and Zevran are the only ones. Alistair and Morrigan will do it, too.

I had already turn down Morrigan by that time and we were friends so all she asked me was "Is it good". And as long as I said "Hell yeah!" She approved lol.

She does it... at least 5 times during the same playthrough. >>

I lost 45 approval points with her because I picked Zevran... I thought that not talking to Leliana at all was enough to 'block' the ninja-romancing but gifts are enough to start it. x.x'

I like when she does it after you discuss your relationship with Alistair, about hos he is in bed, etc....  Like, she somehow forgot all of that?

Maybe in Orlais throwing gifts at someone's head and refusing to talk to them is a form of courting.

I know what you mean OP. You're basically automatically in a romance with zevran unless you're mean to him.



First time I got the "are you uncomfortable with me being bisexual" speech I also picked the "no, im fine with it", implying that I had no problem with his sexuality but he apparently takes that to mean that you're really interested in him.



So basically you have to lose a fair amount of approval turning him down or being mean to him because Zevran thinks being nice to him means you want to get in his pants.

You probably went wrong in the "would it offend you if I said I fancy you?" dialogue (if you don't want him coming after you, tell him you're not interested).  Zevran doesn't ninja people, because the devs didn't want clueless homophobic guys spamming the forum with "BUT I THOUGHT IT WAS JUST A MASSAGE! "  He double-checks when he comes on to you, and it's very easy to turn off the romance permanently.

I think I need to re-name this thread, "I hate Leliana". Didn't realize everyone was having a problem with her. Even during my first play through when I had a romance with Morrigan she didn't say anything.

Btw, I don't see how people feel that Leliana is the same. Is the female romance so different?



To initiate the Leliana romance as a male warden you have to basically almost say "HEY I WANT TO ROMANCE YOU" by picking really obvious come on lines in dialogue. Just being nice won't start the romance.

Exactly, she is just that stupid..

The same with the approval drop, she gave me -25 when I told Zevran I picked him, afterwards I talked to Leliana and she gave me -20.. Did she think I didn't notice the first approval drop? X.x'

@Sarah, remind me to never go to Orlais. ._.

I didn't select that dialogue option though. I tryed my best to select dialogue options with him that didn't make it seem I was interested in him, but also i didn't want him thinking I didn't like him as a friend period.

It's a well known fact. There are two major complaint about Leliana, that a lot of people find themselves in a relationship without wanting to and that an equal amount of people fail to trigger her romance when they want to.

Personally I think she says it best herself "I'm a woman and reserves the right to be inconsistent".

Leliana's romance will turn on even if you don't speak to her. I had it automatically turn on without dialogue after the key event in her personal quest. She's notoriously buggy.

I believe there's an "I don't swing that way" option as well.
