But even without the mods, I would still recommend Dragon Age over Fable 2. But seriously upgrade your computer so that you can play Dragon Age on the PC. You'd be selling yourself short. I know a lot of people who pretty much sold their XBox copy of Dragon Age and went back and bought the PC version and have never turned back.

For instance Castlevania:SON, it has clones but nothing that has progressed the Metroid Formula
Mega Man Legends, Zelda clones also have been trying to progress but the game mechanic is still solid
Metal Gear Solid, it struck a balance and is still reletively playable today
Suikoden: gameplay is very basic and down to the roots, but is also quick making it able to stand the test of time
HOWEVER
You have games like
Soul Edge, it is not as responsive as 2D fighters and is generally sluggish
Decepton, is interesting from a gameplay standpoint but its menus are far too convoluted and some of its gameplay rules are not ironed out
FF7: Uses pre-rendered backgrounds that make navigation confusing and gameplay rules are not specifically defined in regards to the Materia or whatever it is called as balance issues arise with that. Also the battle system is sluggish because of it going to 3D
Resident Evil, similar problems to FF7 except made worse because of the control scheme
On the N64 side many, MANY of those games have aged even worse because of its tie to 3D development

soul edge, yeah fair enough, put that 1 on to see and its like visual dissentry now=(, great back in the day though.
deception- also agree lol
but ff7? have to disagree there, the problem with backdrops and confusion with navigating is solved with a simple button press. the materia/AP system was probably the best of the lot, The battle system looks good even now and isnt slow at all if you put the battle speed on fast(just look at the last battle with sephiroth and tell me it looks or plays poor). and playability wise it was hands down the best rpg id ever played for about 10 years after release.
resident evil- again have to disagree, what clock tower and alone in the dark made good, resident evil refined. great b-movie story line, cheese-on-toast voice acting and atmospheric gameplay. Yes the control scheme was annoying at first, but i could say that about loads of great games! you get used to it.
i see your point about the 3d revolution taking somthing away from certain games, but other games with more mature storylines where helped by this change.
And to make my point, take breath of fire 3. not a cut scene in sight! pure, unadulterated gameplay at its best and that utalised the 3d thing for backgrounds, but it added even more charm to an already great game.
there are numerous games i could go on about but my point is that 3d games dont differ much from 2d games, it just gave the developers more tools to enhance the experience.
buuuuut. . .thats just my opinion and every1s got 1 so there ya go!lol

I've never played DAO on the PC, but I can say it plays fine on the 360. Though it might feel a little clunky at first when playing, after a little while, that feeling wears off and it'll feel streamlined.

id say dragon age! Fable 2 is good for such a short game and what side quests/mini games etc there are, are very in depth and well thought out. the voice acting is superb and it cant be denied its fun to play.
but for sheer gameplay id say dragon age all the way, for 1 you can select your answers rather than just nodding or shaking your head. unlike fable its actualy a challenge to play, you WILL die at some point in this game!lol. and then theres the replay value. . .
i could go on for ages about DAO but lets just say its a must if you enjoyed mass effect and KTOR.

Incredibly lame, especially since having scars may even be desirable if you want to look evil or battle hardened. Fable II pretty much had God mode that you couldn't turn off.

Right now i'm very confused about which one I should get. Can you guys help me?
Here's some info that may help you help me...
-I use an Xbox 360.
-I loved the Mass Effect games a bit more than any sane man should.
-I hate repetative scenery and repetativity in general.
-I always think Medieval RPGs aren't Medieval RPGs without big scary dragons and stuff.
-I like more epic, serious plots in games without ridiculous amounts of humour.
So should I get Fable II or Dragon Age: Origins?
I suggest you rent both of them and then decide for yourself.
