Here's how it is. BioWare - like every single other game developer these days - is partnered with EA. EA are a bunch of rating ****s who will do anything to get that T rating for games that should be M. Because of this, and since BioWare really benefits from Papa EA's wallet, they will (begrudgingly) opt to remove controversial scenes that ultimately got the game banned in some places. So, blame EA for the utter lack of really intimate scenes in ME2 and don't expect a change for ME3. the bottom line is, EA gets what EA wants. I'm not hating them, but I do wish they'd stop monopolizing the market (seriously, think of one big seller that didn't have EA stamped on it somewhere).

As for my opinion, the only disappointing scene was Tali's because those nasty writers had the audacity to remove the mask and tease me with the back of her head then cut the scene. The others were satisfying enough, though, I suppose. I only did one FemShep playthrough, though, and she stayed loyal to Liara... yeah.

Personally, I blame news outlets like Fox News.

Perhaps some parties who want more digital action from their space adventurers would profit from attempting relations with an actual human. Then you don't have to **** at Bioware for substandard ****** renderings and it frees up more time to program in antique store shootouts.

... Only if they're classy, though.

In the effort of ruining Hannar for everyone I suggest asexual reproduction. They need their free time to harass other species about the Enkindlers and getting their mack on would interfere with that goal.

ME2 was gay with the whole sex scene parts.
just stripping, mainly cuddling or spooning. lame.

ME1 was semi-pornographic. awesome.

Uh, you do realize that ME2 is rated M and that, as a general rule, "M" games tend to sell very well (can anyone say "Modern Warfare 2" or "Halo?").

Also, you seem a bit overly bitter about the Tali scene. I mean, you didn't romance her to see her face did you?

I'll take the ME2 unique romance scenes over ME1 copy and paste anyday.

I heard how much skin we see is more important than the dialogue and whether or not the scene emotionally develops the characters, can anybody confirm this?

Do not even get me started, I could probably compile a list of 100 top selling games from the past couple of years that were not published by EA

confirmed.  let's copy/paste romances for every character and just straight up make them pornographic.  for that matter let's just remove dialogue from the romances altogether i mean we're all just after the priiiiiiiiiiize anyway right

Why can't we have both? Please everyone, you know?

I don't have a problem with both, but peope keep asking for raunchier sex scenes when I personally couldn't care less about that and would rather have deeper romances than "hawt" ones.

Because having more skin and animations takes time and resources. The most important thing is to have the romance scene have good dialog and be emotionally impactful, and give an insight into the character. Resources should be spent for those things first, not meaningless nudity.

Here is a general opinion on romance in media:

gratuitous nudity =/= emotional developement

Both have fans, both fans want what they like, and both appeal to a wide demographic. Some people feel unfulfilled when they cross into other bounds, and always they will complain. So, why not do both?

To be fair, Miranda's and Jacob's scenes could have easily fit in nudity, though granted, they were about as fan servicy as any of the scenes to begin with. But I agree that dialogue should be a priority over nudity.

The uniqueness was definitely nice...  I guess it's a trade off. (Faith, here's an equivicator!)  I was just a really big fan of having dialogue AFTER the romance scene as well.  While I do believe that "nudity" can be used to portray intimacy, (vulnerability, to be precise) it doesn't bother me at all that ME2 didn't really feature much...  There are a lot of other ways to show intimacy as well.

They were better in the skin aspect because it wasn't copy and paste like ME1. But they both suffer from dialog problems.

I've got two things on ME2 scenes.

A) Way more character than ME1s cookie cutter scenes.  Perhaps "romance" scene is a better description than sex scene as the scenes are much more character building than the old ones.  You get a unique culmination to each romance, something special that the other romance won't have.   This I enjoyed.

B)  I don't require more skin to be happy, but extra focus/textures/models/whatever for human LIs at expense of alien LIs has one apt description.  It SUCKS.  Like I said, I don't require skin to be happy, but something more than a headbump would sure be nice...Fade to black happens entirely too fast for all the alien LIs in my opinion.  I appreciate there might be model or anatomy issues.  Fine, give us a couple extra lines of dialog to balance out length and the Miranda/Jacob/Jack crowd can keep their abs, boobs, and engine rooms with my blessing.

Reason I liked ME1 scenes better was because of the buildup. ME2 scenes had little to barely any build up at all.

What about those of us who succeed in obtaining relations with an actual human on a regular basis, and yet still persist on ****ing at BioWare for substandard ****** (and other) renderings?  I mean, sure we're pervs, but aren't we justified? =]
