Do you guys actually remember how corny the post-sex scene dialogue was in ME1? No? Because I do, having seen it recently (just today actually).

These last few comments are hilarious. But really ME1 had better love making scenes all around. Yes the scenes were the same for Liara, Kaiden or Ash, but they were better. Able to comment afterwards, the fact that it made more sense all around. ME2 scenes were more PG13 and the games violence really didn't warrant a M rating. Yes you could push a guy off a ledge, yes Nassan Dantius got killed by Thane. But frankly there was nothing in that game to warrant a M rating, even some of the language wasn't all that robust. In fact I believe that Grand Theft Auto was more a M rated game than ME2.
Given that
San Andreas was retroactively rerated an AO game based on cut content, I'm not sure BioWare feels worried about not being as racy as GTA.
Besides, saying that one game is "more" M-rated than another is ridiculous - just like saying a movie is "more" R-rated than another. It's not a scale, it's a set of categories.

Bioware dropped the ball in so many places for ME2. I see no point in replaying the game again myself. I finally beat the insanity level so I've got all the achievements. Unless they come out with an expansion pack like they did for DA:O I won't be playing the game again any time soon.
So basically, what you're saying is that you dislike ME2. Thanks for sharing. I'm not sure how it's relevant to the admittedly shallow discussion.

As for ME3, I honestly think Bioware is going to go with the same formula they did with ME2 and make it more kiddy friendly. This game was supposed to be for mature audiences but in fact my 8 year old nephew told me that he played games that had the T rating and was a lot more mature than ME2. Bioware you really did drop the ball in many areas. I do think you need to go back to ME1 and take some pointers from it.
Yes, because we all know that BioWare was all about gore and sex up the ying-yang before EA came along. Come on, the romances in practically every BioWare game previous to ME1 were much tamer than ME2's are sexually, with the possible exception of
Baldur's Gate II. KotOR, anyone? Even
Jade Empire, which has a definite sex scene, is no less censored than ME2 (probably more so). And
it's an M-rated game.
And frankly, having been an eight-year old gamer before, I can tell you that demographic has no concept what qualifies as "mature" content beyond the "sex and gore" factor. It's not horrible - they're not mature themselves yet so it shouldn't be expected - but honestly, using that kind of anecdotal evidence to shore up your case is laughable.
Besides, did you see the same advertisements that I did? They're certainly not marketing the game as "kid-friendly." If anything, they're blowing the sex and violence
way out of proportion.
I'm going to reiterate what's been said many times before: the ME2 scenes may be a little lacking in the "flesh" department, but that doesn't bother me. KotOR, JE, and countless other RPGs didn't need some skin to sell the romance. Until recently (it seems Alistair may have deposed him), Carth probably could have been said to be the most popular (female) romanceable character in
any RPG and he didn't even get a kiss! Honestly, the sex factor isn't necessary, even if it's appreciated when it is there.
I'd be fine with more skin, but I don't need it, and I feel wholeheartedly that the ME2 scenes were better.
