I am on my 2nd play through on renegade. In order to romance Ashley Williams, do I have to pick paragon choices in conversations or can I pick renegade choices because I am going for a renegade path? After I picked up Liara on Therum on 2nd mission, I am going to talk to Ashley should I pick rengade choices all the way or paragon to conplement her stories etc.?

im pretty sure you should try at least the middle choices if you want to



also, there should be a choice about ashley getting out of line when talking about aliens (liara mostly i think), and you should NOT pick the one saying she is out of line



after that, i think you can just go nuetral... maybe some paragon just in case

Would this be after the Therum mission to pick up Liara? After Eden Prime I picked Renegade choices when talking with Ashley because I was going the Renegade path. So is it highly unlikely that I will romance Ashley? Should I restart because I cannot salvage the romance because of my renegade choices?

After the Therum Mission I was about to talk to her and then Ashley's sister sent a vid talking about Kaidan. I was like WTF? So if I treat Liara horrible there is no way in hell Ashley will come back to her senses and see me as a love interest more than Kaidan?

As much as I hate to say it, but you're officially screwed now - since Ashley's sister mentioned Kaidan's name rather than yours. Your best bet would be to load a save at least a few hours earlier and redo your mistakes, or just start all over again. You should always go for the Paragon (top) option during any conversation with Ashley; in addition, you must explicitly tell Liara that you are not interested in her (which happens by choosing a neutral dialog option during your second conversation with Liara after her recruitment mission).

Yes, I know it sucks. But I must admit that Ashley is the hardest/trickiest  to romance in ME1, mainly because of how easily she's affected by what you say to her AND Liara. Any level of relationship you have with her is compromised as soon as you do/say something "inappropriate" - unlike Liara and Kaidan (for a FemShep).

You can still pick paragon/middle options if you're playing as a renegade. If you intend to romance Ashley then not being a total jerk to her would go a long way. How is this not obvious?

When I talk to ashley in the Hospital and say goodbye she says "you too Shephard".
Is the romance thing screwed? I have been choosing Paragon choices with her and I got her the right book.

I don't want to restart, but I have nothing to talk about to her other than the center left question how are you doing, does another come up after going to get Liara, or am I a friend now?
