Game doesn't work

My laptop's specs are more than capable of running the game on recommended settings, the only problem I can think of is running on Windows 7 64-bit edition.
Is there a way I can finally get this game to run or do I have to insist on a refund for faulty software? (Sorry if that sounds aggressive but I'm rather ticked that after all the homework I've done on this game it still, somehow, fails at the most basic function of being playable.)
Thanks.

"RECOMMENDED
ATI Radeon HD 2900 XT, NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT, or better, recommended
NOTES: For the best results, make sure you have the latest drivers for your video and audio cards. Laptop or mobile versions of the above supported video cards have not had extensive testing and may have driver or other performance issues. As such, they are not officially supported in Mass Effect 2. Intel and S3 video devices are not officially supported in Mass Effect 2."
You need one of those very RARE >2% laptops.

That's not the point. The point is that laptops aren't supported whether they can run it or not. This is mentioned literally on the back of the box, at least on the Flemish version. Translated:mistajess wrote...
No where on any of the documentation that came with this copy of the game does it say anything about the game not being able to run on laptops.
"Laptop versions of these chipsets may work, but are not supported."
It also says you need a graphics card and technically laptop graphics are not cards.
But post your system specs anyway. Maybe your hardware should be able to run it anyway and the problem is caused by something else.

Anyone expecting anything significantly different from any developrs regarding laptops simply is inadequately informed about PCs and PC hardware. (You can probably blame 90% of the bad laptop video on Intel, particularly. )

Is your PC also a laptop model? (Or is your comment applicable because of the low quality video device that you are using without current complaint?) In other words, it would be nice to understand why what you wrote was pertinent to this thread's context.Lumikki wrote...
In my computer (4 cpu, win7 64bit) the Mass Effect configure did not work before I installed the patch 1.01. There was fix for it, of cause I did also install patch 1.02.
