I'd rather see a Mass Effect trilogy box, just like the Metroid Prime trilogy, one year after the release of ME3 or so. They can improve the graphics of ME1 but leave the gameplay (read: Mako, overheating weapons etc.) intact.

There is absolutely no point, besides the fact they'd have to redo a lot of things. I would rather them concentrate on NEW stuff rather than remakes which aren't needed.

PC however doesnt need to wait though, we are still lightyears ahead of consoles in raw power and graphics capability.

And yet we get treated to the same results as the console game :pinched:

Stop reminding me of our inferior brethren. I try to forget they're holding us back.

hmmm i would most likely buy it.

but god, i still hate the mako...(and garrus isn't a romance option *cry*)

i would slouch down in my chair each time you had to set out on a mission with it. like 'oh its just a one off'...sad realization: no..no, it starts like that for each main mission.

but as someone said, perhaps a ME trilogy collectors edition? maybe they will do something similar to GOW? but ME1 has a lot of things that need fixing, not just upgraded textures/graphics...sooo they probably wont do a full-remake, maybe a remastered edition where they fix things like texture pop-ins, bugs,loading-time...

More like ME2 Graphics and immersion (citadel and what not) with tweaked ME1 combat and customization (weapon and armor mods). ME2 vanilla combat is awful and it plays like Rainbow Six Las Vegas.

No. Big N-O.
My reason: As much as I adore ME2's graphics, combats, and cinematics, what got me into series was ME1, even with all of its flaws. I fear that a remake to make it more akin to ME2 would destroy the small nuances of ME1 that I love and thus destroy ME1 for me. Sure, I'd probably still like the remake anyways, but it would feel like a new game instead of the game I first fell for.

Exactly my viewpoint.
A sole ME1 remake. No, i probably wouldn't buy it. BW should put their effort into ME3 and then they could "remake" a bit with a Trilogy-Set. (As long as they don't turn around the game mechanics of ME1^^)

No, but I would buy a remake of ME2 with a story that is an actual sequel to ME1.

unless you compress the loading times to a fraction of their current time, i would ignore it like a California wildfire.

I wouldn't. I've already bought it twice for the XBox and once for the PC. I've played it 16 times and counting...no need to remake it, IMO.

ME2 on the otherhand...well, I'd buy a remake if they continued the story in a meaningful way, like Nozy said.

I would, but I've got things older than ME1 in my fridge. Don't expect a remake till at least 10 years from now

Yeah, right?

Oh, and make ME3 more like ME1.  Thanks.

Why not leave the game as is? Its still a great game and I'm still playing ME 1. Sorry its just as epic as the second one. Both games are great and they are both fun. All the complaining all the time. Contructive criticism makes the world go around. Remaking a game is bascially telling the developers you didn't like the first one. Its not about making them fit. Its the fact that each game is unique in its own right which it should be.

nope personally i like ME1 combat more than ME2 one, it was more varied between various characters and the char developement was more interesting

ME2 system is a bit crazy imo as it use totally different rules between the main char and the party, still it have some good things, it is fast paced and i like the better use of cover...

so personally i prefer a remake of ME2 with the game system of ME1 or, even better, a mix between the two :)

The only thing I can see that would be troublesome would be the MAKO random worlds. These would have to be replaced with from-scratch ME 2-styled sidequests. Otherwise MAKO sequences in the missions can be cutscened etc. However ME 2 style sidequests don't seem TOO expensive to make, and they could even forgo unique dialogue for them in favor of the stock ME 1 text-bubble sidequest backstory presentation.

What did the Mako do to deserve such scorn? Did it leak brake fluid in your coffee? In four playthroughs I've only gotten it irrecoverably stuck once. The bases on the planets could be revised into something beyond mines, prefab bases (some with boxes OR tires!) or prefab bunkers with the odd totally empty room. Anything beats scanning. Self-dentistry is more enjoyable than scanning.

Having an off-person storage solution as well as a better sorting mechanism might pacify those who found the original system overwhelming. I support having many different weapons and armor types. The posse is just more intimidating if we've got coordinating threads.

It would be nice having Saren show up before his accident in the home plumbing section and perhaps having him become more machine-like in a gradual process.

Granted, there isn't enough profit in such an undertaking so it won't happen. The more realistic option would be more DLC missions but that isn't happening, either. It's more feasible to support the current title. I support an ME2 DLC snow shovel with which to dig out the Mako.

Pretty much just a revamped combat system? No. ME1's combat doesn't and didn't need "fixing".

i wish bioware didnt want to show off their combat so much in ME2. the combat in ME2 is actually one of my favorite third person shooters. hopefully in ME3 they get over themselves and make another great game ala ME1.
