Actually you know what I'd say mass effect 1 was fine as it was but mass effect 2 did some great stuff but also some bad stuff aswell, for example bioware ripped out the squadmate inventory system which realy wasn't necessary they needed to streamline it instead yet they kinda killed the RPG side of mass effect a bit which saddened me. What made the original great was that bioware struck a near perfect balance between story, combat and micromanagement but mass effect 2 killed the micromanagement and combat got better in places and worse in others and story was fine but felt less immersive and shorter but still near unparalleled.

I don't care much about fixing the combat in Mass Effect 1, I just want them to use the same engine... I mean, I have to play ME1 with low textures or my computer will freeze, yet the SAME computer can run ME2 and its awesome textures with no problem at all. And sound. For some weird reasons sounds and music randomly stopped working in ME1 while they work very well in ME2.
Me2 textures are not awesome. They are super low res.

Yeah that's the thing I'd like. A box set, perhaps with some bits enhanced to aid the integration between games.LiquidGrape wrote...
If they release a "Mass Effect Trilogy: Director's Cut" with same sex romances, more in-depth content and secrets as well as real bonus material as opposed to glorified TV spots, I'd be all over it.

No, but I would buy a remake of ME2 with a story that is an actual sequel to ME1.
Hmm, throw this in and I'd buy the boxed set

Why not just make new one, ME 3.
Both ME 1 and 2 are fine as they are.

As I mentioned originally I do not mean to denigrate ME1 in any way, shape or form. The reason I still feel an update and synchronization remake would be great is for the sake of making three-game experiences feel connected. At any rate it is good to hear that at least some interest would exist for an update/remake.
As a lot of folks here pointed out, it is difficult to go back to ME 1 after playing ME 2. Love or hate ME 1's combat, mako and inventory it still is difficult switching between the two, and the games don't feel like they are even all that remotely related in terms of game play mechanics. I desperately want the 200+ hours epic experience that this trilogy could provide to feel naturally flowing.
A second, cheaper option I would also suggest would be to release a DLC utility that allows check-boxing of EVERY CONSEQUENTIAL DECISION from ME 1 & 2. This would allow the creation of custom canon without having to replay either game that the particular person finds less appealing. It is also a magic key to unlocking 100% of the wonderful content in these games without spending a thousand hours making saves with tiny variances.
I would pay at least $10 for such a utility. Who else would?
