Has Bioware abandoned DA and ME2?

Is there any word about patches for both games? I really didn't expect Bioware to abandon their games after release as it's looking like their doing. Although I'd always expect that from EA.

What platform are these crashes on? I havent had one crash or freeze on the pc which is ironic considering how hot my cpu gets lol but crashed and froze all the time on ps3 however thats down to sony not bioware/ea
It's on PC, crashes are sporadic but I'm not going to say anything more about it. It's the bugs that has stopped me from playing on.

I preordered Awakening but still haven't played it through fear of spoiling the experience with all the bugs people are claiming. Am I overreacting? I'm a patient person, so don't mind waiting a little longer.
There are some workarounds in Wikia that might help you experience Awakening as it is. It's a great expansion even with the issues and it will just be even better when the official patch fixes them all.
http://dragonage.wik...Dragon_Age_Wiki - It might contain spoilers so you could just check the bugs list and workarounds. More specifically, Silverite Mines bug, Sigrun joinning bug and companion approval bugs. I'd also recommend the Awakening Blackblade Armor Dragon Drop Fix by Schwinni so you can enjoy the full set which is very cool while we cannot have it without it.

I've managed to play-through Awakening on my 4-year-old PC running Windows XP. Yes, there are bugs but no game-breakers. I've installed some mods that have fixed a lot of the minor bugs. The only major bug I know of is the Silverite Mines losing armour for AW but there's a work-around to that one. I've not encountered the companion approval bug.
Well, if you lose all the main char gear by entering Silverite Mines without knowing about the bug, you'll only find out you've been FUBAR at the end of the level and if you do not have a save before entering the mines, you're pretty much with a game breaker bug.

Exactly...there are workarounds etc etc.....
The community fixed things that we are still waiting for bioware (you know, the people who made and test the game) to get around to sorting out...
@sotaklas....see above comment....

Started a new character now, and going to play both games once more to the end.
Would be nice to have the patch, but like all things, it takes time.

I hear you, bud! I didn't encounter this bug in any playthroughs but am glad I read the forums before doing so with my AW. Now, I'll know what to do.
I think players are upset that DA did not live up to expectations that it be perfect and completely bug-free. That's quite unrealistic, especially in the case of a game as complex as DA.

examples:
items -> wrong models, some pieces don't drop (Blackblade)
quests -> encounters don't trigger (example: Velanna pers.quest) or the relevant npc disappears (Sigruns pers. quest)
approval -> from 0 to 100 with one item
joining of your party members -> if you don't do Blackmarsh at last, one member can't become a Warden
-> endless loop of last cutscene
-> the already mentioned gamebreaker with the silverite mines.
...
and so on
A patch is more then necessary.

We've already said we're working on another patch. No ETA at this time.
Can we get an update on the "unable to access your online player storage" issue?

That's a database server issue rather than a bug within the game itself. From time to time, database servers are taken off-line for maintenance. Of course, servers can also crash for unknown reasons.

I don't have any answers for you regarding issues, sorry. I'm not someone who deals with bugs (other than the writing-related ones, I suppose). All I can really say is that we're working on it and the issue is really getting everything tested as much as possible. As I'm sure you're all aware, insufficiently tested patches can sometimes cause more problems than they solve.annihilator27 wrote...
