If Ecael becomes a mod though, he/she should moderate in elcor mode.
Edit: or hanar.

BioWare Forums: Serious Business (to some people).
Let me check the site rules and legalities.
Yup some people do take the forums serious.
If you get the moderator paperwork you might get a clue.
Yup, some people do take the forums way too seriously.
In fact, I have an image that describes you pretty well:

Sure, you can accuse BioWare of being mindless, greedy employees for not making Mass Effect 2 based around your opinion.
Sure, you can accuse other people of being mindless fangirls or fanboys for liking a game or a character too much, more than your opinion allows.
Sure, you can accuse other posters of being mindless drones for voicing an opinion that isn't quite the same as yours.
But in the end, you're the only mindless one -- complaining all the time (note: cyncism is *not* constructive criticism) and not really contributing much else.
Take a step back for a moment and realize that not only have you wasted so much time on an internet forum, but you've wasted so much time on an internet forum on wasted effort that no one will ever notice.

I just pointed out you wouldn't have the power to change the ban policy or alter the account creation rights. You are doing the "Serious business" meme with attached picture commentary.
My posting history and habits has no relation to this thread or the comment I quoted.
You call me the mindless one because I post complaints as feedback on the Bioware forums, I was not aware that posting postively was a requirement. Your remark is insulting to me.
Will you also put in place some means to make sure posters are only able to post in agreement or someway to ensure that posters aren't wasting their time on the forums instead of contributing that time to society?

Of course, your signature is already derogative to anyone who does like Mass Effect 2 (as if they didn't like Mass Effect 1):
You don't seem to realize that Mass Effect 1 from beginning to end is basically 'splosions as well (including the Mako cannon spam and many of the story based CGI cutscenes), but regardless...ME2 Sacrificing story for action. Mood for boom, boom
'Sploshuns
Upon seeing that, anyone (including any BioWare moderator or developer on here) would think that your post is anything but positive. And they most often aren't, of course.
Judging by how the developers react to some of the more negative fans like you who think Mass Effect 2 wasn't an improvement (and how they appropriately respond), I'm quite sure that Mass Effect 3 is going to be made with the exact opposite of everything you said and had in mind.

Hell, I'd love to be a mod, but then things like this happen-
You attract attention, and while some of it is good, a lot of it is bad.
Then you get dragged into arguments, or discussions that go nowhere, and that ends up a few ways, with threads being closed or people being suspended.
This is why I can't advocate for someone to BE a mod.
I can give a positive or negative reaction afterwards though.
Like when Javier became a mod. That was a good decision.
He helps people, had links to info people wanted, and much more.
I did the same thing, but I didn't have links nor was I able to grab everything he did.
I'd say that takes me out of the running.
Being popular on the boards however? That's not a good reason to be a mod.
Some substance has to be laid down. You have to earn it. Not get it by popular opinion.
Just my two cents.

Yup Bioware makes games to spite fans that are negative in their posts. That makes sense in an overly emotional way.
Now that you have diverted the topic this much can you rein it in and comment on how you plan on changing the ban policy and account creation process. As those were some of the things I found interesting enough to post here.

I try to do the same thing -- as if I were some walking encyclopedia of Mass Effect 2 information (if you haven't seen my threads before), but it's true that I don't take the internet quite seriously enough to be a moderator.
The fact that this thread still exists on a forum about Mass Effect 2 storylines (and character threads...) is a testament to the need for more moderators, but I certainly wouldn't consider myself to be a candidate if the primary quality needed was gravitas.
So yes, I support more forum moderators, regardless of whether I became one or not. That's highly unlikely as it is, considering how much Javier has contributed before and after Mass Effect 2's release compared to me, who only showed up after.
I was always under the impression that this thread was started out of humor, and some people just don't think humor makes them feel good or something.

You, I, hell, several people here COULD be good moderators.
The thing is, "could" isn't good enough.
This forum does need more mods. But if its going to get more mods, and thats up to the mods we already have, it has to be people the devs can trust.
People that will go out of their way to help anyone that have questions or concerns.
Hell, I've noticed SO MANY things that have gone unnoticed by mods.
I used to send quite a bit of PMs to Chris about them. Don't know what came of that.
Guess I just gave up. There's so much nonsense milling about, it seems like no one's really doing anything to counteract it.
We could. A bunch of us could.
But like I said-
"Could" just isn't good enough.

That's not quite the best way to influence people to consider your opinion. It's more likely that your signature just confirms that people who think Mass Effect 2 is an improvement happens to be the dull-witted majority that BioWare is trying to "cater" to directly.TJSolo wrote...

Funny, that's the general idea that the vocal minority seems to take on when BioWare does something they didn't like. "BioWare hates us because [insert character here] or [insert gameplay aspect here] was removed or changed!"Yup Bioware makes games to spite fans that are negative in their posts. That makes sense in an overly emotional way.
The only thing overly emotional are the negative reactions to everything a BioWare employee posts. Chris Priestly takes a lot of unwarranted abuse, but he still posts anyway. This is how the announcements forum often sounds (and how BioWare reacts):
It's getting fairly obvious that the vocal minority gets tuned out completely, and the people at BioWare will do what they think is best for them and the majority of critics and players. That's the way it should be.Chris Priestly: Alternative Appearance Pack 1 announced!
Vocal Minority: Why are you charging us, BioWare?? I hate you, you greedy *******!
Chris Priestly: Alternative Appearance Pack 1 released!
Vocal Minority: WHY ARE YOU CHARGING US, BIOWARE?!? YOU'RE GREEDY LIKE EA!
Chris Priestly: Equalizer Pack 1 released!
Vocal Minority: WHY ARE YOU CHARGING US AGAIN, BIOWARE?!??!?! [RAGE]
Actually, I've noticed whenever your avatar is on the "last post" side of the Mass Effect 2 Campaign forum, and it seems like you avoid posting on this forum for the most part. Unless the thread is something I'm heavily participating in - or, in this case, the thread is about me, and it's not getting locked. Now that you have diverted the topic this much can you rein it in and comment on how you plan on changing the ban policy and account creation process. As those were some of the things I found interesting enough to post here.
Finding me to be quite interesting, are you?
