I think Bioware will let us talk about it so long as we're nice. So be nice.

The creator, JackFuzz, said he was really passionate about finishing the mod. It's gone from this site and hasn't appeared on Nexus.

Did the haters who called it immature or gross finally get to him? Did Bioware decide it was controversial or too obscene and delete it, and he quit the project in disgust?

JackFuzz isn't talking, so I guess the only people who can tell us are the Bioware moderators. Of course they probably have some policy against telling us. But if the mod was nuked from orbit, I wish they'd tell us so we'd know where the line is. The site rules do state this:

No Topics of an illicit or illegal nature. Warez, software piracy, illegal activites, pornography, posting copyrighted material or scans of such material, etc. are not welcome here and will be removed without warning. Posters of such material will be dealt with on a case by case basis. A person or persons found to discuss such matters may be banned from these forums at the discretion of the staff.

Maybe I've answered my own question. I just wish there were a way to know for sure.

I have no idea about this mod, but just wanted to point out that it is not only big mod-project that has died in silence. And more will follow. It is easy to start a project and difficult to finish it. You notice there is 1000 times more work you thought, or you loose motivation, or interest, or some big changes in personal life...anything can happen.

It seemed like he had made a LOT of progress on it. He wanted to finish Custom Bodies first and use it in Sultry Romance. It looked like both were near completion.

So you are saying we will have more of these "Trailer Edition" mods and their makers doing the "wabfloyd"?

Didn't it turn out to be a hoax and a joke perpetuated by a bunch of creepy people in this forums? The mod would have allowed some character to have sex with their own parents. Last I knew, and I admit I stopped paying attention to the bawing about the close of the mod, there's been no comment from BioWare. The mod owner simply closed his thread and slunk off with his tail between his legs.

So horny teens and creepy people, go back to DragonageNexus and download your p0rns there.

JackFuzz was a troll and an idiot, that's all that really needs to be said to give you an understanding of what I assumed happened.

I don't think I can be very supportive of a mod which disregards all canon for the sake of porn scenes.

The entire point of modding is that it adds something or changes something in the canon. So if you feel that way, you should not support modding period.

Hahaha.

The entire point of modding, is to change or add. Yes. I support modding, actually, lol. I am quite a big supporter, you could say I definitely add something myself. That doesn't mean I want cheap porno scenes in my game. Now, or ever. It would ruin my game.

The game already has visits to a brothel where you can choose same-sex companions or even a transvestite or bestiality option. (OK, they fade to black, but ...)

It already has a few lesbian/bisexual romance options, Mr. Fuzz just wanted to add some more.

Of course, that idea in itself wasn't so bad, but I did find the incest stuff a little whacky. Maybe that kind of crossed the line.

*shrugs* I'm not familiar with this mod, but a quick perusal of Nexus will show anyone there are already 11ty billion porn mods out there. I don't view it as a loss, trying to surf through that garbage to find anything remotely relevant to DAO gameplay gets harder everyday as it is. Don't get me started on the 80000000000000 face morph mods that all look the same.

I have really hard time trying to figure out what obsession people have with pr0n and nudity. First mod to come out is always something where you can strip your character/NPC:s, in every game. Now, I am not a pr0n hater and I am quite liberal...but I just can't figure this out. The whole society seems to be obsessed about sex. Obviously I lack some brain parts most folks have. Or something between legs. I mean, the whole interwebs if FILLED with every possible kind of pr0n, isn't it enough? Why people want to see digital characters doing it? I had to test some of those pr0n sceens for a mod, and I must say I laughed and cried at same time, and I really was thinking why on earth anyone wants to see something so...ridicilous? And yet, there people are using ingredible amounts of time and energy producing them and they are very popular. I have really tried to understand this, but I just can't.

Because sex and sex appeal are constantly at the forefront of our thoughts and desires, it's a key instinct and because of the sort of taboo some cultures still have on the subject that sort of enhances it's overall allure. Everyone simply seeks different or added ways of satisfying their curiosity and desires, some choose to satisfy it through their various virtual characters for whatever reason and I suppose there are some who simply do it for the added "realism".

The mod sounded fine and dandy until the fact that you could bed the Cousland mother came up. That's just disgusting and why I think it is a hoax. Of all the people you could sex up, why would you choose a person you can only encounter when she is your mother? Heck, if you're wanting old meat, why not Wynne or Flemeth (who you know is good in the sack...if she doesn't kill you).

I'm not against pr0n mods or really any mods. I don't have any myself, but that's mostly from wanting to avoid embarrassment if someone were to find it.

Yeah, me too. Luckily, this one will probably get closed before any of the people in the original thread get over here.

I'm with you on this.

Fact is, the adult mod section is larger than the non-adult mod section at Nexus. It's weird, there are two mods out there that give the player a personal keep (basically as a free alternative to WK). Both of them are in the adult section, because AFAICT one offers nude dancers, and the other a chance to sleep with most of your servants. Yep, that's what I want in my keep, not a blacksmith.... :innocent:

Some of those mods really make me scratch my head. Sexualized Ogres? What the hell is the point?

The only reason I care ... is mostly for the same reason as you ... I'd really love mods that add new companions to the game, or new quests, or rework the UI, or add or revamp features of gameplay. (I don't use most of the cosmetic stuff either.)

Now I know those are hard to write, but ... seeing how much amazing effort people put into such things as adding more sex scenes to the game, it really makes me wonder what they could do if they weren't focused on adding pr0n to it instead.

But oh well, it's exactly why the alt.binaries.sex.thisorthat Usenet groups were always the most heavily trafficked, and why pr0n is the most profitable thing on the Internet. It's just the way it is.

Wow. Totally agreed with all you've just said.

We have chainmail bikini, schoolgirl outfits, XXX animation changers, 2300 variants of the Pearl brothel and all that stuff.

But imagine for example if those guys actually put their effort into re-making the Sacred Ashes weapon and armor(so we wouldn't need ripping the Blood Dragon Armor from ME2). Or some Deadly Reflex like combat overhaul we currently have in Oblivion.:?

Well the thing is Dragon Age really isn't designed to encourage such indepth and complex modding that you find in Bethesda titles. Yes it's got that wonderful toolset, but because of the way the game is built and designed there really isn't a whole lot of incentive to spend hundreds to thousands of hours developing mods such as OOO, Francescos or FWE or creating a bunch of new meshes for huge equipment packs. Hell the whole reason a nexus site came about for Dragon Age was to give a home to the adult oriented mods because they can't be hosted or advertised here on the Social site. Wouldn't get your hopes up to much for the quality of mods you see in Bethesda games, we'll get a couple of real nice modules but that's all I really expect.

From what I understand it was banned by Bioware, not closed by Jackfuzz. While I do agree that the Sexualized Ogre/Mabari/Whatever... mods make me scrach my head in confusion, on why someone makes it. I do not see the point in screaming at any modmaker that make things. I see little use in headmorphs and God items, but I dont complain about them, i just ignore them.

I never saw the "sex"mods as a substitue for porn, i doubt anyone does. If someone wants animated porn, they get Hentai. This however is just a expansion of charachter interaction and roleplaying. Sex is an important thing in real life. And it's quite odd that its entirly ignored in computer games. The market is clearly there. There will be good "sex mods" and there will be bad ones, as in every category (quests, items, dungeons...), but to dismiss the entire category with "whats the point, just get some real porn" is a little immature. Everything is about how its done.

I could argue about these kind of mods giving a game "realism" until I am black and blue, but it won't get anywhere.

Let's just say I really, really disagree with you.
