Oh beware of EA! since they are planning to charge for demos and becoming a digital download company:

"Electronic Arts' current leadership has already said the publisher is moving its game business into more of a digital download company"

That means that the EULA will force you to accept more buggy games; currently the problem they are facing is that video games are considered consumer goods, they are obligated to follow such rules (even if they don't), but being a digital download company, all shall fall inside the EULA... smart move EA, they can sell more buggy games, dlc's and demos but you cannot complain because all was delivered via digital download and you accepted the download as-is... they sold you crap and you accepted it... smart, isn't it?

And taking these words as reference:

It is a favour. We are under no obligation to provide post-release patches. I believe the EULA for most, if not all games states something to the effect of the product being released "as-is" and the software having no warranty in and of itself. I seem to remember reading that, so please correct me if I'm wrong. Any warranty included in game purchases relates directly to the physical media on which the game is printed.

certainly that is the way it shall be... you've been warned

I'm sorry, could you provide some context for those quotes? Like, links directly to where those words came from? And possibly a link directly to where EA says they're planning to charge for demos and become a digital download company, because what EA actually said was apparently a little different.

Here you go:

For the EA statement :

and for the words

more insight

so EA shall charge for every service and download, the big problem is, covering behind the EULA you shall not be able to return or claim for a refund since it is a downloaded content as is (for that matter, I haven't found any EA statement on regards on refund of a downloaded or purchased service)...

No support, nickle and diming for everything, doing everything possible to squeeze as much money out of us as possible while doing the absolute minnimal effort to support their games, if anything is done at all. Too bad so many people mindlessly defend a company that doesn't give two sh*ts about them, they prey off of that leaving those of us who care a minority to be ignored and flamed by fanboys.

BW point of view:

According to BW, the game breaking bugs are important... as if the corrupted saves are not game breaking, not to mention the dex bug which is not a game breaker but defect from the original product...

In terms of buying a car, BW sold a car that can speed up to 100 mph (according to the publicity and user manual), but in reality it does speed up to 30 mph (dex bug),which is not such an issue because you can still drive the car. But there is a problem when you fill up the petrol tank, the car would not start (corrupted saves)... you've got to wait 24 hrs until you can start the engine... again the car is able to move... none of the above problems are considered serious because the bloody car still can move!... unless the car explodes, that would be real problem and it is considered a game breaking bug (the car is totally broken into pieces or in plain terms, the game is not able to play or your xbox explodes because of DAO).

If you are annoyed and upset, how is that? the bloody car is able to move, isn't it? that's what you paid for... what are you whining about, sorry if you didn't read the small print, you accepted the car as-is, about how fast you can go?, that is your problem, who wants to speed up 100 mph, anyway?... there are more important problems, what about if your car explode?, but you know what?, we are working on that, to prevent that you car could explode... but do not worry, you can still drive the car... in the meantime, take this brochure of the 2011 model..

Yeah gotta love how the dex bug is not "gamebreaking" enough for them. A main stat that is responsible for a portion of damage on daggers and bows isn't adding the dex modifier and it's not gamebreaking? It takes away an entire build of the rogue class, makes your bow and dagger damage less than what it should be and is presnt even in the expansion even though it was fixed on pc the first week the game was out by the community. I mean look at what the 1.03 "patch" fixed, is the wrong portrait for the rangers pet more important than a main stat working correctly? I don't f**king think so, just too many disappointments with this game.

Agreed.

I love the fact that EA's job website says 'EA is commited to making games that are accessible to everybody,' when about 60% of their PC customers have to struggle through ridiculous anti-piracy controls. Illegal hacks/cracks are gonna arise if you're gonna stop somebody using the software they paid for.

EA've done more for piracy than Cpt. Jack Sparrow ever did.

Sorry to interrupt, but are you playing on a PC or Xbox?... so far, the only official patch in Xbox is 1.03, it was never a 1.02 or similar... of course, in the Xbox...

It was fixed on pc but never for the consoles, we never got the 1.02 patch for some reason.
