I own all 4 comics. Beautiful artwork [...]
I would respectfully beg to differ.
Personally, I'd say the artwork is nigh atrocious.
- Every face is a contorted mess of wrinkles and empty eyes.
- The poses are awkward and unnatural. No person, regardless of species, would be comfortable curving their vertebral column like that.
- The colouring is adequate though, I suppose.

I like some of the art...it's nice to see Liara kicking butt with her biotics.

Also, for those super-fans like myself, there is a very rare Hardcover edition of the Mass Effect Redemption trade paperback coming.
A "super-fan", eh? Yeah, I'm sure any "super-fan" would just love what BioWare did to Liara. Including the complete destruction of her role in ME 2, so that nothing from the comic series would be spoiled. I'm sure every "super-fan" is just enthusiastic about that new edition too. The comics are so wonderfully drawn and written after all, aren't they! Oh yes, so very much indeed!

So true...

I would do the book club if it wasn't for their whole catch. You get 5 books for like $5 and tax and shipping. But you can't cancel the membership until you buy something like 5 more books at full price within a year. Thats going to add up to like $60+.

Coming from one of the few Liara fans that liked the ending to the comic -- and for reference, I liked the ending to the Matrix trilogy, so I'm what you might call a 'little off', but I personally saw plenty of justification for 'I was afraid you would hate me' in the very same line that detonated the thread back in March -- I still have a lot of worry about this. They had the task of explaining why geeky scientist Liara became scary b-word Liara, or as a few of us on the Liara thread think is more likely, why she began wearing that scary-b face to the galaxy while still being largely the same person, and the aforementioned task of explaining the nearly-hidden dialogue when she drops her guard. Their success at the latter is debatable, and their success at the former is practically nonexistent.
That's mostly my opinion. As a comic, it's not that bad if you don't compare it to what Liara turns into in ME2. If you do, then you'll hate the comic, because it helps ruin her character even more.

No, you have to first buy 5 books at $1 each + shipping + tax. Then within the next 12 months, you need to buy 4 books at full price (Which will average about $15 each) then you can finally cancel your account. If you cancel your account before hand, you have to return everything. Book clubs are scams.Dougy Phresh wrote...
So if I buy it off of SFBC do I have to fill out the enrollment offer. It doesn't seem like I can trust it? Can't I just by the book?
The part that sucks is that I cannot find anything on this Hastings bookstore anywhere! I want this hardcover so bad too but I don't want to spend about $50 on an ebay version.

That is beyond stupid, not many people are going to buy the Hardcover, so no one will make money off it. And for the people that really want it, me being one of them, they have to jump through hoops just to get there hands on one. I couldn't find it on the Hastings website either and if I wanted to go to the store its a 80 mile drive!
Please BioWare, put it on your own online store! I know you listen to the community and this would make it easier for the fans to get ahold of a copy.

I don't think they cared either. At all. They made Liara's motivations in ME2 very murky and hard to understand. Heck... they even hid the explanation for her behavior behind a one-chance option on the dialogue wheel. Players were left scratching their heads, but we were promised that the comic would explain things.JackShepard wrote...

I don't think they tried. At all.
The only thing that waste of trees did was muddy the waters even more. But we all bought it anyway, handing over our hard-earned money for the priviledge of watching a once great character completely destroyed. And since the comic was such a success, EAware probably feels like they did an "awesome" job.
sigh, havent read the comic yet was hoping for some good reason why ME 2 Liara was rubbush but seems like i wont get that then will still read, i just wish they hadnt done it in the first place and gave her a proper in game part rather then some weak dialogue which to me was easily the worst part of that game by a massive margin
