I've got a problem that's driving me crazy. I installed Mass Effect 2 and I couldn't move using the keyboard. Tried to bind movement to other keys besides WASD, nothing. I was able to bind move forward to the left mouse button so I was able to get past the intro mission and create a character.
I've reinstalled the game three times now. On the third time, I was finally able to use the keys to walk. I got to the point where you pick up the first thermal clip, but as soon as I hit "R" to reload, all of a sudden I couldn't walk again. I set the "Home" key to be my reload key. I tried again and everything was fine once I set the Home key to reload. The "M" key for the map causes the same thing to happen, so I set "End" as map.
Basically, I can walk fine when I first load the level, but as soon as I hit any of the letter keys on the keyboard, I can't move anymore and I have to reload the game.
Core 2 Duo 2.2 GHZ

Vista Home Premium 64 bit
Logitech classic 200 Keyboard
I should point out I just bought this Logitech classic 200 Keyboard 2 days ago because I thought my old keyboard might have been the problem, but it still does it with this brand new keyboard.
What is going on here? Some kind of problem with the keyboard drivers or something? I went to Logitech's website, and it said there aren't any available drivers because the keyboard uses drivers included in Windows Vista. I've looked and looked but haven't been able to find a solution.

Hey there, I have the same problem. I can't believe your post has been ignored. You and me are both on the same boat. I'm 12 hours into the game and I can't move my shepherd at all. I can command my other 2 squad mates to move but I can't move myself despite trying to bind different keys for walking. I can't strafe left or right nor can I move back or forward. I can still turn using my mouse but that doesn't seem to help./
I tried uninstalling and reinstalling. What in the fudge is going on?
I have a toshiba satellite with similar specs to you. I just run off of shared graphics memory and I'm running wpro7. There is nothing wrong with my keyboard as I am typing this apparently, but for some reason, my character can't move in the friggin' game.....are you developers at BIOWARE just going to IGNORE this?!

Not true. You have an AMD Turion processor which is something completely different compared to what Banshee has. Your GPU, the HD 4200, is well below the system requirements and nothing compared to the much more powerful GPU in Banshee's PC. Your laptop is in no way similar.SheldonBBT wrote...

If you want BioWare's attention, send them a message. EA handles official support but unfortunately posting in this forum and asking for other users' help is the best option.SheldonBBT wrote...

I know the gpu is different, but the ram, mem and cpu are similar. all he listed was a intel core duo 2.2 ghz, a different brand (with mine being 2.3ghz), but not listed specific model to determine if his cpu is better than standard dual core amd turion.
but this is besides the point. I can't figure out why the first 12 hours of me playing would work just dandy then all of a sudden, when I get to a quarter way through the horizon level after the 1st or second cutscene that all of a sudden in all of my saved games it won't allow me to move my character. everything seemed to have went smoothly in gameplay the first 12 hours.
what changed then to what is causing this now?
