Your Mass Effect 1 saves should be under Documents\\Bioware\\Mass Effect\\Save. If you copy that folder into some temporary directory, you can then use the ME2 Config Tool (by running the game launcher) and choose the "Import Mass Effect 1 Save" option (you'll have to do a bit of digging around to find this option).
