Um long story short someone else did some major spring cleaning and I'm pretty sure they chucked my game manuals with the printed serial codes on them for Dragon Age Origins and Awakening.  Luckily ME2 was spared from this tragic fate.  I was hoping since I registered with the serial key codes on the social site that there would be some way for me to retrieve them but if there is I can't seem to find it.

So I suppose the question is is there a way for me or someone from Bioware to retrieve the lost serial codes.  Or get me a brace of new ones?  As concisely stated in my title it is partially Bioware/EA's fault...if I hadn't won that snazzy new computer I wouldn't have to be reinstalling the game, right?  I know I know, woe it me!

And yes I've rightly learned my lesson I've already started up a document listing my serial keys and emailed them to myself in addition to storing it on my external drive and thumb drive, not going to do this again trust me...:wizard:

EDIT: Talked to EA Support and they said I had to talk to Bioware

EDIT 2: Ok new question.  I have a friend who also owns DAO/A and is willing to let me borrow their codes to install...would this cause any problems for either of us?  I mean I'm sure it's probably not something EA/Bioware would prefer we do but I'm not exactly made of money.  Buying DLC is a money juggling issue for me, though I willing do it, so $20 for replacement codes would really hurt.

Is it installed still on your old computer?

No that computer had..shall we say issues. Neither magic jelly bean finder or any other program could be installed much less run in an attempt to retrieve the key from the computer itself. Had to do a restore to get it in working order sadly.

If you have the games installed I think you can view the serial keys in the gamelauncher. Choose "Configure" --> "Game"..and it should be there..at least I think that it's the serials.

That's nonsense.  EA owns Bioware.  The manual tells you to contact EA for support.  The phone number it gives you is for EA support.  The URL is the EA support site.  Either you talked to an idiot, or EA's decided to get organizational ideas from stuff Kafka wrote.

hmmm....not sure how bad your computer was, but is the hard drive salvageable? a cheap enclosure might allow you to get in the old hard drive on your new comp and start rummaging through your original installation to find what you need.

Have you contacted BW? Not to sound rude if you have already tried, but I can't believe you have your games clearly registered (with those exact codes!) on this site, with the game icons beneath your avatar and those numbers cannot be reclaimed.

Maybe BW can't help at all, but it seems like if the games are clearly registered to you then you should be able to get those EXACT codes back. New codes would imply a new copy of the game, but those codes that exist on your BSN account should be retrievable.

again, good luck mak!

Heck the online storage and retrieval of serial keys should be a required feature of any game registration system. Should be a simple matter of signing in to your account and pressing a button...ya hear me Bioware? I won't even charge you for the idea, just implement it ;) All sorts of things can happen to physical codes in the real word it just makes too much sense.
