I think we, as fans, should have some contribution on it.
I would hate to see it be made into a bad movie.
I want LOTR, not Doom.

The movie will be a PG-13 drivel marketed for the broadest possible audience.
There hasn't been a good game movie and there won't be one as long as the movie studio bosses are those senile old men who think games are for kids.
So we have another Doom in our hands no matter what. But hey, the licence to use name Mass Effect wasn't cheap so more money for BW/EA.

The movie will not resemble Mass Effect in any way. And no matter how BW says that they are included in the movie making, they really aren't. Sure they can maybe have some veto right on some things but that's it.

you speak the truth.....
your right. Unless they get their A game on, and make it only for adults, in every possible way, limbs blowing off and everything that makes ME rated M, then nvm.
DOnt waste effort on movie. Jus tmake a good 4-5 game series

Mass Effect is a trilogy, therefore Shepard's story will be finished after ME3 (there will be no ME4, ME5 etc)
HOWEVER Bioware has stated that there will more than likely be spinoffs set within the ME universe.

I know, is wishfull thinking on my part
I wish it would be longer. Some games have the potential to be more than a trilogy, Like halo...although they blew it.
ME has that potential., and no in spinoffs no.

Movie based on video games are no good. They suck.
People said the same thing about comicbook movies until properties like X-Men and SpiderMan got the huge blockbuster success they got ten years ago. Video game movies have the ability to get the same results, though they have been struggling to find that one big movie to turn the industry around to take them more seriously. Movies like Tomb Raider, Silent Hill and Resident Evil has had decent success but they've gone far off the grid in comparison to keeping in line with a specific game.
On the other side of the coin you have total garbage like the Street Fighter, Bloodrayne, Doom, Wing Commander, Etc. Of course when you have people like Uwe Boll, who seems to have made it a personal goal in life to ruin any video game property they touch, its hard to get studios to really put alot of faith in video game based movies.
I'm holding out for the Prince of Persia movie and the possible WarCraft movie. If they can pull both of those movies off with moderate success I'll be more willing to consider the concept of a movie for ME. Personally I think its better suited for a TV series on a cable channel like Showtime.

I say don't risk
going with the story of games would be a bad idea it wouldn't feel like our playthroughs but if it was seperate or followed the book it would be ok

1. Don't involve Shepard or his/her crew.
2. Cast high profile actors (like Samuel L. Jackson) to play the main roles.
3. Make sure it's plot could stand without making it Mass Effect
4. Do not take creative liberties with the series, if you're traveling across the galaxy, make sure to show atleast one Mass Relay
5. Don't kill off anyone who showed up in any of the games.
6. No saving the galaxy/fighting/investigating Reapers, unless the person who finds out about them dies with his evidence destroyed before he can tell anyone about them.
6. Basically treat it as a side story about what's going on with other people while Shepard's doing his/her thing.
List is subject to change but follow these rules

Your list is decent with the exception of this here. I dont need Sam Jackson screaming to get the M**** Geth off his M**** ship or anything similar. If the movie needs high profile actors to sell tickets, and not just the premise/story its doomed out of the gate. Getting good actors are one thing but to pump it full of names like a crappy Dreamworks cartoon to sell the movie by the cast list alone is a bad thing. If this wasnt what you meant I apologize but using Jackson I default to junk like his role in Star Wars with Mace Windu which was totally a waste of space and used as nothing more to try and promote Star Wars to additional audiences by his drawing power.

Or and even sh!ttier 90 minute one. Most Hollywood studio believe that 2 hours is too long for an American audience.GodWood wrote...
Mass Effect is already cinematic with the added benefit of being able to mold your own character and make your own choices over a period of 30-40 hours.
Why ruin that by turning it into a shtty 2 hour film.

What I wouldnt mind being made is a few short episodes like Halo Legends(Lol Master Chief might be a women...all the halo nerds raging). And of course I wouldnt want it following Sheperd but being short episodes about people from different races.
And come on people you know if they made a movie it would be horrible. So lets not taint the name of Mass Effect.
