LOL
A Bioware customer service rep told me that more than 99% of lithographs arrive undamaged.

The backstory: I ordered 5 lithographs, when they arrived in that crappy cardboard sandwich all five had a massive gouge in the upper-middle of the lithograph. I complained and asked them to improve the packaging and they shot back with that gem.

Perhaps you're that
It's hardly a fallacy.
EDIT: Derp, spelling fail.

It decided to remove half my post, annoyingly.
It should have read "Perhaps you're that less than 1%."

But I am not, there were dozens of people on these forums who received obliterated lithos. Half the listings on ebay have shipping damage. It is silly for them to claim that they pack items adequately. Because the Bioware store would not allow me to check items out more than one at a time, I wound up spending $35 for them to ship in a $0.50 piece of cardboard. I can't imagine a thick, high quality poster tube is going to cost them very much money.
They also promised to refund part of my shipping, but have yet to, and when I asked about it, the rep just got pissy with me.

People cried and complained that rolling them was causing creasing damage as well (none of mine that were rolled ever came creased and once you flatten it properly, no problems). I think if more than two were rolled together it might have caused problems but, as I said, mine were never damaged.
This is why we have the flat flimsy cardboard+styrofoam packaging they use today (that I have yet to have an issue with as well). If you have a better idea for how to pacakage them, try posting that idea on the Bioware Online Store Support forum. They take suggestions for new merchandise, and will usually also listen to suggestions for how to improve packaging as well there. Some people have posted pictures of what other companies are doing, so it is worth a shot.

What they need to do is package them with a layer of 1/2" plexiglass between each, then wrap the glass in 5" of foam rubber, then case the rubber with a standard 2X6 topped on each side with 1" MDF. After that is done the entire case should be coated with marine waterproofing acrylic.
New costs are $374.89 for each lithograph.
