Speaking of Lovecraft, you can get a free e-book at the Cthulhu Chick fan website, in PDF or EPUB form. The works are in the public domain, so it's not illegal or anything.

I am taking a trip saturday, during which I will get a LOT of reading time. Any recommendations?

I like sci-fi, fantasy, & suspense genres. No 50 shades or Karen Traviss plz

(Maybe something that puzzled you or surprised you in some way...)

Thanks BSN!
:)

This is a book written by my nieces husband a radio operator/soldier on some of his time in Afghanistan. If any one likes a good military read on that subject give it a whirl.

How about Lois McMaster Bujold? The Miles Vorkosigan books are excellent sf and the Curse of Chalion and Paladin of Souls are top notch fantasy.

I've heard some wonderful things, I've heard some terrible things...does it live up to the Carroll vision? Does it need to?

Not having read Carroll I'm not in a position to comment. I think it lives up to the Noon vision. Does that help?

Gonna start reading A Child Called It today. I want to pick up a good book though on the different kinds of car engines.

Incredibly good trilogy. The later series weren't quite as good but those first three were amazing.
