I just started reading this one. I really liked the older X-Wing novels and so far it's.... Decent. Not bad but doesn't have the charm of the originals at least yet. Though admittedly I'm more of a Rogue Squadron than Wraith fan. There are a lot of new characters and it get's very convoluted at times. But it still has my interest piqued so I guess that's good.

"Rule One: F*** with me, you die. No warnings. No second chances.
"Rule Two: What I say, goes. It comes out of my mouth, it's law. Break a law, you get hurt. Break it again, you die.
"Rule Three: F*** with my friends, it's the same as f***ing with me. When in doubt, see Rule One.
"So...how many of you want to be my friends?"
It's worth pointing out that Caine said this to an overcrowded prison full of people that wanted to kill him. While he was crippled with a spine injury that meant he had no control of his body from the waist down. And it worked. (After he fought and killed a guy to make his point. But still.)

It's been about a year since I finished a paper on rewilding & restoration, but I haven't gotten bored of the topic yet so I've been finding books here & there that touch on the subject. This book is a look into the recent history of Oregon's wolves. The state made an effort to create an wolf-plan before the animals established themselves, so there's some incite into how that came about, as well as ventures into the wilderness & town halls. Craziness around litigations, depredations, billboards, & special interest groups. The author makes an effort to instill an image of the wolf as an animal, grounded, & not some unstoppable cattle killing monster or the eco-Jesus come to absolve our sins. Of course there's also a bit on OR7 & that media circus, so that's fun too.

A story, set between the Kirkwall rebellion and the full Circle rebellion, of a nice young man beset and manipulated by three women - his crazy radical ex girlfriend, a noble beautiful Templar, and his mother. So really, its every man's nightmare.
I quite enjoyed it, and loved how it ended. It makes me want to replay DAI and take Cole everywhere.

Hmm... hard for me to say which I preferred more. They both had stories that were engaging, with interesting plot twists that I quite enjoyed. Was I the only dude who preferred Asunder over Masked Empire?
Masked Empire may be my preferred overall just because of the extremely entertaining dialogue from Gaspard and Felassan.
Gotta love that Asunder finale and epilogue though.

I am rereading Blade of Tyshalle because to hell with my thesis right now, class hasn't started yet. It is an extremely good fantasy novel.

Because of this person above me,I have been introduced to a great series I should have read long ago.

I can't put it down ever since reaching page 12. King never fails me tbh. I love collecting, reading and rereading his books.
