Bare Faced Messiah

Biography of L. Ron Hubbard, made by the critics, mostly featuring interviews with former shunned members taken in 1986.

Some scary ****.

I am Legend  is not a horror book (to me), don´t worry. It is rather depressing however, but I don´t think it will come close to On the Beach (only saw the old movie, I guess it ends the same).

Blood Of The Elves by writer which name I am unable to write from my head. :) A second installment of Witcher books that are translated so far that is.

The Last Wish is on my list books to read. I really didn't care much for the witcher game but I want to read some of the books before saying the entire series is worthless, lol.

Last Wish is REALLY good. At first it seems like a random collection of short stories similar to Lovecraft collections, but there is an actual core plot linking the Voice Of Reason parts to the parts telling Geralts past missons, they are there to give an insight to Geralts line of thought and how he sees the world. I enjoyed that book a LOT. And so far Blood Of The Elves has been enjoyable read too.

I'm a legend's original ending ties up with the title much better than the movie's ending

The Ringworld Throne. There is A LOT of rishathra. I mean the whole book seems to be about rishathra. Not as much fun as the first two books. Worth a read if you are an utter Ringworld/Niven enthusiast, as I am.

I also finished ME: Retribution the other day. SO MANY ERRORS. Drew obviously didn't hire a proofreader - either that, or he needs to become better at it himself. We're talking things like "Kail Leng", "biologicial", "Oriana" [instead of Orinia, a turian diplomat]. The funniest part was Grayson's "being clean for 3 years" which became "clean for 2 years" in all subsequent chapters. I chuckled.

I too noticed errors in that book, because im an anal #@£$% about these things. But its not Drew, it baffles me that these things get passed the editting process.

Did the story at least hold up? I enjoyed the first 2 Mass Effect novels far more than I thought I would.

Yeah, I'm quite obsessive about such things. Did you notice that the volus Pitne For says: "it also is toxic," regarding the biotic-enhancing chemical he was shipping about? I'm pretty sure that's bad grammar. It certainly sounded awful.

It wasn't bad. I preferred the first two, though. The plot makes sense, but seems poorly executed.

I noticed some of them, too. My printing was poor quality, too. It feels like a second read would cause it to split in two parts.

My favorite was the 5th, Baptism of Fire. Why did the english edition skip the second book? The tales are quite good and it introduces a few plots and characters.

What second book? Times Of Contempt should be translated in 2011. If I understood correctly there are many Witcher books, but the actual Witcher saga consists of currently of 5 novels, where 1st book Blood Of The Elves is currently the only one translated to english. (Last Wish stories do not count directly other than telling the origins of Ciri in one of the shorties)

I'm kind of lost as to why it's taking so long to get the books in English. They seem to have them in most other languages.

Translating from the Spanish titles, so titles might be different:

1 - The Last Wish
2 - Sword of Destiny
Both are collections of tales.
3 - Blood of the Elves
4 - Times of Comtemp
5 - Baptism of Fire
6 - Tower of the Swallow
7 - The Lady of the Lake
The saga.

The game takes place 5 years after the 7th book, it also works from some plots that had an open resolution. The second game main plot might be based on a few paragraphs from the 6th book.

The History of the Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire by Edward Gibbon, an abridged version. Because I'm frankly not interested enough in the subject material nor disinterested enough in all the other subject matter I want to read to read six volumes!

On CD I just finished a BBC rendition of Titus Andronicus by Shakespeare. Whoo! Talk about gory. People say modern entertainment is violent. That didn't take long, of course, and before that on CD I just finished The Enchantress of Florence by Rushdie, which was very enjoyable. Been doing more driving than usual lately, so I thought I'd cram in more reading lately.

My next pick, good luck favoring, will be The Maltese Falcon by Hammett. Never seen the film or read it before, o I'm looking forward to it.  I'm kind of coming off a funk recently where I haven't been getting enough sleep and stuff, and been re-reading stuff that's enjoyable and also really high quality (I think), such as novels from The Vorkosigan Saga, as well as stuff by Hobb.  But I'd read it before, and re-reading stuff you've read before more than once isn't so good particularly when you're in a funk.
