Last Wish is REALLY good. At first it seems like a random collection of short stories similar to Lovecraft collections, but there is an actual core plot linking the Voice Of Reason parts to the parts telling Geralts past missons, they are there to give an insight to Geralts line of thought and how he sees the world. I enjoyed that book a LOT. And so far Blood Of The Elves has been enjoyable read too.

I'm currently reading The Last Wish as well and enjoying it very much.  I like the short-story style.  It reminds me of folk tales, which I love, except all the folk tales have Geralt in them.  Which is fine by me.

Mmmm, Geralt......  Image IPB

currently this board and going through my rand mcnally road atlas map, checking road clearances, checking for any restricted routes along the way, and taking mental notes of where the "chicken coupes" are located. "chicken coupe" is trucker slang for weigh station.

Most Greek plays are really good but I'll never understand why teachers feel the need to require them for reading when just about all of them can be summed up in about a paragraph or two. If there was any word play worth noting its been lost in translation and the only thing that matters about the play now is it's meaning. Which, again, can be summed up easily.

I´ll never understand why mandatory readings in school usually include books which were not written with children and teens in mind. I hate most literature pre XX century thanks to that.

"Nationalism in Southeast Asia - 'If the people are with us' by University of Auckland researcher Nicholas Tarling. It provides a very comprehensive overview on the various scholarly arguments about nationalism, and the sources of nationalism in SE Asia especially with regards to colonial and imperialist regimes. Gets depressing at times, but a good book about history and reality will do that to you. Sadly, unlike many of you folks here, I don't have time for leisure reading these days. Books like Tarling's *are* my leisure reading. :)

Do you mean an actual biography or Eiji Yoshikawa's Musashi? Because they are two very different things lol.

I'm currently reading The Black Prism by Brent Weeks its pretty good so far.
