Hi guys,

I'm stuck in Redcliffe at the moment.
My character is a Warrior, about lvl 6 I think...
I've managed (only just) to beat the undead hordes that come into the place, however now I have gotten into the castle and I'm now stuck.
I can beat the basement, where u end up after the windmill.
I get to the next floor, defeat the first wave of undead, and then kill off the 4 or so Shade's.. but after that there's a door to north that you go through and get mobbed by at least 10 undead... and I never stand a chance.

Is there a combo you can set up to get through this place ? Certain skills required etc?
Any tips or things I should know ?

Cheers!

Is the part you're talking about when you go into the courtyard?

I am not the best player in the world, but I AM getting better as I play. If that is the case with you as well, I suggest turning the difficulty to "Easy" when you run into those battles that you just can't seem to win. You can change this at any time, back and forth, buy going to the main option screen then the game tab (I think... I don't have the game running right now).
I want to win the game on at least "Normal" but occasionally, I try several times and get wiped, so I switch to easy. Afterwards, I switch it back. I find myself getting better as I learn, and having to resort to this "strategy" less often.
Also, learn to use the Tactics screen for each character. There are many posts about this that may help. I very rarely have to go to easy mode to win the battles now, so I am slowly learning how to fight. Next run thru, I will start on "Hard" knowing I can switch to "Normal" when I have to. Maybe a stupid strategy, but many use it.

can't remember everything i did in there so i can only give you some gameplay tips

some rooms you can pull half the room, just show your self and go back and wait.if not fight in the door or in a corner. if you have a mage, make sure she/he cast lower resist first in a combo if you want to singel kill mobs. if you have a rogue make sure to stunn the traget and get behind your target to backstab. make sure to have lots of healing potions with you and have a priest with you or maybe have your mage off heal

Ok, I don't remember the specific part you're talking about, but here's some stuff that may help:

-I really, really struggled with my warrior at level 6. I don't know what build you are, but warriors don't seem very good until you get some gear and some high-end talents.

-Against very large groups when I'm overmatched, I'll kite them for a while. The melee will clump up and outrun the archers, and the archers need to stop firing, and move to get line of site. With the enemy closer together, they're easier to AOE/CC.

You can use this to lure archers around the corner to kill them at close range.

-Make good use of rogue poison grenades at this level. (Acid Flask and the like.) A ton of them drop during Ostragar, hopefully you didn't sell them. This will give you a little bit of AOE.

-Give Morrigan heal if you haven't, even if you're not planning on making her a "healer" per se. It's one level point, and it will help considerably in this phase of the game.

-I dunno who your group is, but Dog is IMO is very good in the early game. If you are a warrior yourself, he definitely brings more to a combat situation then an additional warrior.

-You're probably already doing this, but it's usually important to focus fire. Until your mages gets the OMGAOEPWNAGE, it's especially important to eliminate individual enemies quickly.

-Many undead are strong against Frost damage, so Morrigan's frost nuke isn't that great, here.

its fairly easy...just have to know tactics...heal doesnt hurt either. :innocent:

also, i think fire works quite well against undead.

If it's this part, then take a look at your surroundings - Ser Perth and the rest of the knights are waiting at the gate, all you have to do is open it.

Unless you got them killed during the siege of Redcliffe, that is.

"Hold/Free move" is your friend, when in doubt give your companions "Hold" order, then scout forward - try to lure one/two of the enemies at time. Thats the strategy i'm using at the moment, and it works perfect.

With big mobs I usually make everyone attack the same npc to eliminate people quickly, which means less people hitting you.

If you went to Redcliff first I can see having a problem... you really need a healer for large mobs, and you probably don't have one yet (either Wynne or Morrigan leveled up 4 or 5 times with healing spells).

Not got that far I keep replaying the Origin Stories lol

But if it was me I would have a rouge place traps and pull the mobs into them using bows and spells. Once they get through that gauntlet have the mage open up on them with the meleers.

Traps dish out alot of damage in the game as do grenades.
