As far as mechanics go its GTA 4. I watched someone play it.

That is what I feared.  GTA 4's controls are clunky and unresponsive.  If Red Dead Redemption can avoid the repetitiveness and linearity of GTA 4, I may be able to overlook that, otherwise screw it.

I'm not a big GTA fan.  I've played and enjoyed most of the games in the series, but it was never anything I could get excited about until GTA IV.  I ended up loving that one.

Red Dead Redemption wasn't even really on my radar until just recently, but I'm almost sure to pick it up now.  I'm no great lover of the whole sandbox mechanic either, but for some reason a sandbox western game just sounds too good to pass up, especially if it's close to GTA IV in quality.

Can. Not. Wait. I'm surprised this game isn't bigger on this forum.

I'm on the fence with this game. Not really sure what makes this game stand out so much.

I would say this game has 2 huge elements. 1) both single player and multiplayer western shooter gameplay. 2) awesome story, cinematics and voice acting.

Oh I'm into westerns, must have seen every Spaghetti western more than once. I just look at this game and see nothing special, just reminds me of 'Gun'.

I'll just rent it when it comes out.

Being that there's a big discussion about the Credential's of ME3's eligibility to be called and RPG could'nt this game be considered an RPG ?, i think this game will be game of the year ..

I would say it 'could' be classed as an RPG yes....

But then we get into the whole "What is an RPG?" argument again hehe

From what ive been hearing from early previewer's this blow's ~GUN out of the water on sheer size, they say it's bigger then any GTA game to date, if you like spaghetti western's just imagine playing in one, and i mean this game has everything hunting wild life to obtain fund's, also let's you choose to either be an outlaw or Marshall, Lasso criminals, everything they could'nt do with Red dead Revolver it's in this game, let's not forget that Red dead revolver was already a finished title when Rockstar purchased it so that does not count, oh yeah i did'nt even touch on the multiplayer which require's a whole different subject  ...

imo, Gun was never that great to start with. It was only 'good' because there was really nothing to compare it against...

Look at the recent offerings so far?

Gun, (Average at best)

Red Dead Revolver (never played personally)

Call of Juaraz (Again, average at best)

CoJ - Bound in Blood (Also very average and too short)

So....looking at the above.....RDR looks truly amazing....the free roam MP aspect sounds stunning and it appears to be a truly huge and immersive world....

Whats not to like and or get excited about?

Revolver actually came before GUN and it was a really decent outing, considering Rockstar bought it half way through development from capcom, it's really atmospheric and has alot of the old sound track's from the spaghetti western theme, the dead eye Mechanic that the new game use's was taken from Red dead revolver,  i thought it was a alot of fun ...

hehe...wasnt an accurate timeline list....just as I recalled what we had actually been given in the way of 'half decent' western games....

I feel RDR will be the benchmark....and I can't be alone in wanting an epic and massive western game....I know film wise they have died a death a little of late....but there are so many closet westerners out there....
