I completely agree. The characters in Red Dead are more memorable and unique. I've really grown attached to several of them. If anyone touches a hair on my Bonnie's head then I'd hunt the son'**** to the end of the Earth for my revenge.Capt. Obvious wrote...
On-Topic: I honestly like the characters in this game better than most of the ones I've seen so far in Dragon Age: Origins. I know people that said that this game is not as "story-oriented" but I think they're wrong. This is my opinion of course, but I think that RDR is more genuine and real than both Dragon Age and Mass Effect.

There's a mission involving Bonnie (fairly early on, you probably got to it by now) that had me saying the same thing. Shot those bandits straight to Hell and felt good doing it. Marston manages to be badass and a pretty cool guy at the same time. Diggin' this way more than I did GTA4.

I just came across a sheriff on the side of the road and he asked me to kill or capture two bandits. So I captured them as is my way, and I returned them to him. He then proceeded to shoot both of the hogtied men in the back and ran off. Is this normal or just another strange random occurrence in my RDR beta?
This happened to me too he is supposed to do this I dont know why then he just runs off limping... Its pretty funny though.

I wish they made an outfit in the game witch gave your horse unlimited stamina
Is anyone else upset that the preorder outfit is the usless assassins outfit, I mean its good if your making an evil character but compared to the benefits of the others.
Assassins-recharges dead-eye
master hunter-twice as many pelts and such
Buisness suit-everything is half price
In all honestly the most usefull one would have been the buisness suit considering that would be a life saver early on!!!
But of course as soon as people see the word assassins they say to themselves "OHHH assassin that means sniping I love sniping*votes"
Stupid COD players...

Well, I'm pretty sure the connection issue I'm having is coming from the game or its servers, spent the last couple of hours trying all the fixes people have come up with for the connection issues (making sure NAT is open, disabling my router's firewall, making my xbox the DMZ, etc.). Hope they come up with a fix soon, I'm getting tired of being restricted to single player.
Rockstar will fine tune this game in the coming weeks do not worry.

Have any of you been able to do anything with the Treasure Hunter challenge? I just don't think finding the right big rock or group of cacti over the entire area of the giant map is all that feasible.
I spent a good 40 minutes looking for the first one, I found the right area no problem but finding the rocks its hidden behind was impossible. I dunno if it was a glitch or what was going on. I eventually just gave up on it.
I agree there are some mind boggling design decisions and some things are explained really badly, like dueling for example. Plus the explanations pop up on the top left of the screen with tiny writing while your infact trying to perform the actions so you dont really get a chance to read them. I had no idea I even had dead eye because I was trying to shoot the rabbits when the instructions popped up.
Overall though im loving it. I can see it getting old and a bit empty after the main quest but so far I've loved it. Beware of hookers running around in the desert in their under garments. That particular meeting didnt end well.....for her.

I actually like the minor characters as well. All the small moments and cut scenes are so genuine that the game is like it's own movie. It certainly feels that way. I mean, the music is so perfect. It fits into what's happening around even without cutscenes. That compare the feeling you get playing RDR to DAO. I don't know about you guys, but this is no Grand Theft Auto 4 in the Wild West. It's much, MUCH better.

Yeah, the business suit would have been nice, though once you have the elegant suit, money isn't hard to make. John looks stupid in a suit though, at least the deadly assassin outfit makes him look cool. There is another outfit that offers increased total dead-eye though, and I think that's probably better, as a lot of encounters will be over before your dead eye is recharged anyway.

Good fun, you can do it with any decent slope, they just slide down like they're in a sled.

But on topic, I would love to, but that game isn't my top priority right now. *points at games list, no Awakening is present* I've been outspoken about how I hated the expansion and now it's putting my game life on hold.

A new problem I've discovered is that the game randomly resets your weapon selection back to pistol. I was just doing a quest where I had to hogtie a woman and return her to her husband when in the middle of it a shop was robbed and I had to chase down the robber, hogtie him and bring him back. I did so using the lasso last to tie him up. I then went to lasso the woman quickly only to find myself drawing my pistol and gunning her down in cold blood infront of a town full of witnesses. Ooops.
Actually, it's not random...What happens is anytime you hogtie a target and pick him/her up, it "resets" your weapon to pistol seeing as how a side-arm is the only weapon you can use while a hogtied target is on your shoulder
