A new problem I've discovered is that the game randomly resets your weapon selection back to pistol. I was just doing a quest where I had to hogtie a woman and return her to her husband when in the middle of it a shop was robbed and I had to chase down the robber, hogtie him and bring him back. I did so using the lasso last to tie him up. I then went to lasso the woman quickly only to find myself drawing my pistol and gunning her down in cold blood infront of a town full of witnesses. Ooops.
Actually, it's not random...What happens is anytime you hogtie a target and pick him/her up, it "resets" your weapon to pistol seeing as how a side-arm is the only weapon you can use while a hogtied target is on your shoulder
Ah is that what it is? I just assumed he would lasso her and pulled the triggers quickly, I was pretty shocked when I shot her in the neck and the whole town ran away leaving me standing there looking like a right gimp lol. Thanks for clearing that up.

Not really. I didn't see any differences in the comparison videos I've seen, so the only real difference I can think of is whether somebody would rather play on Xbox Live or Playstation Network, and what controller they like better. I personally like the Xbox better in both regards, that's why I went with the 360 version of the game.Celrath wrote...

I've heard the PS3 version has two unique gang outfits, and while those outfits aren't usually very cool, that might make the difference. I don't much care for the PS3 controller, especially for a game like this, but that's a personal preference.

Just wait 'til you get to Tall Trees, you'll have packs of wolves chasing after you, and once those wolves are dead, another pack will suddenly spawn nearby, meanwhile 2 to 4 bears are running toward you. Once you get to Tall Trees, you should get a deed to your favorite horse, that way you can spawn a new horse once the one your riding inevitably diesMercuron wrote...
These animals that die in a few shots but are awesome at appearing out of nowhere to one-shot my horses while I'm going full-tilt down a road, thus sending me rolling 100 feet down a bank ... are my new most-annoying-enemies-in-a-game.

I just discovered that one a little bit ago, after one of those random encounters where the woman pretends her carriage is broken and a bunch of bandits jump out. Lol, wasn't expecting her body to do that when hit by the train. And damn, I've gotta be getting close to getting the buffalo achievement, I've wiped out a couple herds of them alreadyDruss99 wrote...

Since I'm too lazy to read 6 pages I'm curious, did anyone on here play the first one?
But on topic, I would love to, but that game isn't my top priority right now. *points at games list, no Awakening is present* I've been outspoken about how I hated the expansion and now it's putting my game life on hold.
Yeah i did i thought it was a really good game, you play as multiple characters throughout the game to prgress the story. great story and of course the dead eye mechanic is in there, it was originally capcom's game and Rockstar purchased it and put the finishing touches on it which is probably the reason why the first one is not as open ended as the new one, but still an awesome game ...

On a side note, I read a lot online about people talking about how the horseshoes minigame sucks because it's "impossible to control" and how the liar's dice game is "all luck". I think they're all 100% wrong on both counts. Those are my two best.
So maybe a lot of my gripes are just similar things that I haven't mastered yet. Great game either way.
Multiplayer is a bit of a disappointment though. I have NO CLUE why they didn't just take out the story missions but leave all the side stuff in there. Why the hell can't I play poker with my friends or go after some random bounties? Free roam is so freakin' barren it gets horribly boring by about level 20 or so.

I find myself cursing at the screen frequently with this game because of little things that annoy me. However, so far I find the overall product to be excellent. Every time I gripe about something, I find something else that's awesome. I think my frustration is just inexperience with this game type.

I've found so many small annoyances in RDR that I've learned to just shrug them off and try to enjoy the fun parts. There are nearly constant annoyances, but if you can just move on the game is still pretty fun. I think a big issue is just the lack of good documentation and clear explanation. That's part of why many don't like the horseshoes game, it's just not made real clear what you are supposed to do, I looked up a guide though and while I'm still not good, I can play and win against easy opponents.

Well, if it comes to PC and if the game is good I might order it second time but now I just have to play this game ASAP.

I think the problem people have with horse shoes is that it isnt as easy as it looks and isnt explained very well. A bit of practice though and it is quite playable.
I had some issues yesterday with story characters (who you cant shoot) either stealing my horse or taking pot shots at me from behind a barrel in the middle of thieves landing. I failed a mission because a story character got his horse killed and took mine riding off without me, I failed because I apparently abandoned him

Just curious, is it not working for just public games or for private games with friends as well?

So far I've only played with my Xbox live party for multiplayer. It's worked fine every night since release. I haven't tried playing publicly at all.

The only time's I've had issues with the multiplayer were right after release. Ever since then multiplayer has worked fine for me.

Dunno if it'll work with private matches, I've only tried public so far. Only one person on my friends list has the game, and he only does singleplayer. Thankfully though it sounds like R* is close to finding a solution to the issues.Wicked 702 wrote...
