The Mako was solid, at least. The Hammerhead is just silly! Can't Cerberus afford a proper gunship?

Unless you just sit out of enemy fire range and spam the rocket, in which case you never get shot at. That, I find, is the biggest problem for the hammerhead.TelexFerra wrote...

I felt like I was sitting in a tin can. One shot and I was already beeping. Without any sort of health gauge, it's very hard to fight with the tank.

Ahhh the US - where dates makes no sense at all.
Anyway...I'll be waiting for more info before buying, if it's anything like Firewalker or Kasumi then: Meh.

Silly European! The thread was created on May 13th! In the US we do month / day / year. (though I personally prefer your system
5/13 has nothing to do with the release date.

(Please don't let it be like in Firewalker where you hold Y and hover over the mineral until it beeps. I want to get out and explore!)

I'm pretty sure he meant what he said - hapless. (Unfortunate, for those without a dictionary.)

Yeah you can "solve" the hammerhead problem and it is by finidng cover, hover, shoot, shoot, shoot....rinse repeat. I mean I think they wanted fast paced shoot and scott type action but all that mobility doesn't help much given how fragile you are.
I'm curious the balance" of HH vs real combat in Overlord because the less of the HH the better.

That was the same strategy I employed with the Mako in ME1; that is, until I found out that nine times out of ten it was better to just drive past enemies.

i have a question on the DLC as a whole. the ME1 DLC's were acceptable, but they -as far as i know- did not come into play during a play-through (bringing down the sky and pinnacle) so, does the new character and other DLC's for ME2 factor into the game-play during a play-through? does kasumi get to take part in the final assault?
yes indeed you can successfully use her as a tech specialist
Zaeed also is enough of a heavy hitter that if loyal he can save some of your squishy people in the hold the line segment if you leave him with the main group...

Heck he can even do that if not loyal.

The main problem for me was the enemies i was fighting were a bit dense... I know there machines but no one would just stand there getting shot at.

I am uncertain that hammerhead can be easily fixed... It would require a whole new mechanic of ground combat that would eliminate the easy ways to win... They made a workaround for it in BDtS with turrets only being hittable when in close proximity, but that was just that - a workaround for a very flawed system.megatron999 wrote...
The Hammerhead has potential to be really good. Add some shielding/health bars and fixed a few bugs and it would be awesome.

I did not like the hammerhead / firewalker missions, because they felt to arcade like; in that you could not exit the vehicle, like you could with the mako, and it felt like I was in an arcade playing 'Defender' (or amybe Galaxian, though I think Defender is a better analogy).
That said, there is no reason to assume, that the 'hammerhead' experience will be the same as it was in 'firewalker'. The possibility exists that the 'hammerhead', as implemented in 'Overload' will allow you to exit the vehicle, where appropriate, to explore your surroundings, on foot, and/or engage the enemy directly, rather than in the 'hammerhead', if you so choose.
Also possible is that when you choose to fight Geth, using the 'hammerhead' , it will be more like you remember, when you used the 'mako', only you will be able to hover, instead of roll.
Just saying, it is too early to judge.

Sure, the missions are a bit easy, but they were short and to the point, not the mindless scouring of planetsides for that one chunk of mineral ore. I'll take using the Hammerhead on just about anything that use the Mako again.

The Mako would not be so bad if it wasn't for the spiky planets that make maneuvering it such a chore. The carbon-copy side mission bases were also fairly lame. And after playing ME2, the combat really feels clunky.
After Kasumi, I am actually looking forward to more DLC for ME2. After Watcher's Keep in DA:O, I wasn't looking forward to any more DLC for that game. As for the hammerheard, it has potential. And since the missions we do have were free content, I won't complain. They are a fun diversion.
