Worst spoiler from BioWare I can remember was for Mass Effect 1. I'd already played and beaten the game, I knew nothing about Reapers or anything. I was YouTubing Mass Effect videos because I was a crazed fan. One of the trailers talked about an "Ancient evil threatening the whole galaxy."

I defence of that, the Reapers were part of the story from the moment you visit the Citadel for the first time, though the whole Sovereign thing doesnt come into it later. I hadn't been spoiled either, but the moment Tali played back the Saren's recording I knew the Reapers would be a part of the story, so I wasn't really surprised.

But I do agree that BioWare spoil stuff, and its a real shame. For Mass Effect 3 I'm not going to be watching any trailers or promo videos. The amount of content they spoiled for Mass Effect 2 was really incredable, especially during those SciFi videos.

I wouldn't have a problem with it if BioWare actually put up warnings, but they even hosted a bunch of heavily spoiler videos on the official website with no warning of any kind.

So yeah, BioWare if you're reading this; please warn about spoilers in the future prior to your videos, or dont host them on the official website.

Really though a lot of the moments that were supposed to be a big reveal were ruined by the videos they put out Like Garrus. I wonder what it would have been like going for Archangel a not knowing it was Garrus at all.

not to mention Shep dying! I was really pissed about that spoiler, it would have been a great shocking moment and they had to ruin it!

Has anyone else felt the DLC's feel slightly dull with the lack of dialogue from your squad? Not so much Zaeed and Kasumi's as they had both the characters to interact with but more the Firewalker package.

Not to be negative, i think they're great additions and i'd buy them all again if i had to, but while extending gameplay is great and all, a major aspect of the game is the dialogue and character interaction. I distinctively remember the last mission of the Firewalker package, finding the artefact and no one says anything! Perhaps it's just the contrast to what im used to.

Actually the worst thing about the Firewalker pack is that the entirety of the 5 mission quest is handled through e-mail.

Now, I don't know about the rest of you gents, but when I downloaded Firewalker for the first time I was very eager to give the Hammerhead a spin. As a result I blew through all 5 missions rather quickly and never once went to my e-mail.

Which means I had absolutely no idea why I was getting climate data from a frozen world or why I was fighting geth on an acid world.

Subsequent playthroughs allowed me to read the e-mails before and after each mission...and I'm still a little lost on exactly why we did some of those missions. In fact, when the giant McGuffin turns into a tiny little ball and NOTHING happens...huge let down.

But the Hammerhead vehicle itself was a blast and the levels were well designed compared to ME1's Mako levels. So it was a fun package just short, lacking in story, and completely lacking in any kind of impact to the game.

And MerrikShep, I totally was floored with Archangel being Garrus. I heard he was a turian and thought, "Oh cool, another turian crew member." Then I saw him in his blue armor and not saying a word as he sniped a merc. I thought, "Is that Garrus..." I was on the edge of my seat...and then I knew it had to be because they were being coy with the camera and then BAM it's Garrus. I was happy.

It was a nice welcome....and then he was shot up and I was horrified I'd killed Garrus by not killing the mechanic with the Renegade interrupt.

Hey I am all for story dlc, even if it would have us use a Mako with very bad, jagged terrain. I know a little about it, but when I saw the vid of Hudson talking about it I quickly exited it out.

ME1's story was ruined for me by my brother who was explaining mass effect 1 to me (he was playing me2 at the time and didn't spoil anything for me there.). I thought I wouldn't buy the game at the time. After seeing a few of the moments of the last mission of ME2 on youtube, I went out and bought me1 and 2. I still ran into some surprises in ME1, but wonder how much more I would have liked the story had it not been spoiled. After I beat ME2, I went back to watch some videos on it (the SciFi one too, and cringed at the amount of spoilers.

tldr: staying away from any videos or info about the dlc until I play it due to spoilers. Glad to see some story driven dlc instead of 80's sunglasses on Garrus....which are classy by the way.

I could be wrong, but i don't remember any spoilers in any trailers of either game.  They used in game tech., but i don't think any of the scene's had any part of the actual game

The Official list of Xbox Live updates lists it for the 15th. We haven't heard anything from Bio which could be due to 1) Evil Chris being out of office (fact) and nobody being there to answer the Batphone 2) EA has their E3 press conference tomorrow (15th), so they could be saving it for a "and oh, the new ME2 DLC JUST WENT LIVE!" type of announcement 3) They're pulling a Pinnacle Station type stealth release on us 4) Major Nelson (the Microsoft Live guy) having wrong info (I'm guessing a combination of 1-2, with mostly 2)

It is known that Bioware likes to spoil a good portion of the game.  However, I never saw the truth about the Collectors coming at all.  I would've loved to have never known Archangel was Garrus, but I would've known as soon as I heard he was a Turian.

Also, are we sure the new dlc comes out tomorrow?

Major Nelson has it listed on his site, along with a ME2 demo, that it will be up on Live Marketplace. So most likely yes, tomorrow. Or the latest, the 16th.

EDIT:

@Crimson - your just lucky that you weren't on the forums the few days before release. The people who pirated the games were posting all of the collector and other spoils through forum spamming. I didn't get to be surprised. :P

Unless there are complications, please read this EA announcement.

EA announcement says...
BioWare also announced today that players already in the game can
download a new game add-on called "Overlord", adding five new
areas and
two new achievements. Available June 15, the game add-on is
available
for 560 Microsoft points and on PC for 560 BioWare points.

Oh I was here for that too, but I tried to avoid the bulk of the spoils.  The whole Human Reaper thing was ruined for me because of pirates, but Archangel being Garrus, Jack being a girl, and Shepard dying at the beginning was all ruined by Bioware...
Oh well...can't be changed now.  Some things just can't be unseen...like your parents "wrestling" :o
