Did not take the 2.5 hours promised. Though the Data Hound Achievement might help to add another 20 min to additional playthroughs searching for the crates.

Story had alot of buildup and personally ended up being a little anti-climatic for my tastes. I was really hoping for something a bit more.

Still enjoyable though for the most part. Dont feel I wasted any money, though I enjoyed Kasumi much more in comparison to the two Pay-4-DLCs thus far.

Short Answer - No

Longer Answer - This was covered months ago that there would be no new armor/weapons in this DLC.

I find it weird to do Overlord before Project Firewalker. The damned Hammerhead wasn't even hanging in my hangar.

Haven't played it or seen a walkthrough, but my impression:

It all takes place on 1 planet? Crap. An issue I've had with the primary campaign is that aside from Harbinger, you don't really have a villain to latch onto, not one that you can fight. Everyone who picks a fight with you dies about 5 minutes later, the only way Harbinger gets around this is that he has multitude of bodies at his disposal. So with this DLC, where you have a villain that gives you trouble for 5 missions, I figured the situation might be rectified. I could do a couple Overlord missions, then go back to the Collectors, have my final showdown with Overlord and Legion's loyalty quest kill the time between Reaper IFF and the Collector ambush, and in the process create a viable subplot for my campaign (as so many loyalty missions seem like detours). But noo, this is just a really big detour. If you have 5 missions, but can't do them at your lesuire, then it's really just 1 super-long mission. Wouldn't have killed them to present this story in a mission chain a'la the Blue Suns Trilogy or, yes, Stop The Collectors.

BW: Coming up with an individual enemy that gives you trouble for more than 2 or more missions (that you DON'T have to play back to back) isn't that hard. I'll give an example to aspire to: Grand Theft Auto: The Lost and Damned; during the "Bad Standing" mission, you track down a traitorous associate, Brian, and end up pointing a gun at him. He says he wasn't in his right mind when he betrayed you, and promises to leave town if you let him live. So you then have the choice of letting him go (Paragon) or killing him (Renegade). If you let Brian live, then an optional mission opens up, which you can undertake at your leisure, where you encounter him again (this time only one of you walks away). If you killed Brian in "Bad Standing", then this mission obviously is not available. Why couldn't ME2 do something like this for, say, Vido Santiago? Something like that makes you feel that your choices have actual consequences that affect you. I could care less about the stability of a colony that you're probably not going to set foot on again.

Yes i finished playing it and i felt sorry for that autistic guy in the end.

The addon itself is great, graphics music and storywise. Pretty long gameplay as well so definately worth the money.

Actually i think its good that Bioware implemented that Autistic element, i have a light form of autism myself (Asperger Syndrome). and i do regonize that behaviour (calculating root square's etc). I've seriously seen autistic people (heavy forms) that can calculate sums like that.

well, this is different story. but the game price is now $10 cheaper, and they just added demo? why?

A better question is why not?

no, there is nothing wrong with it. but it's too early to get lower price. PC version is only $29.99 now. what a bargain! it's only 5 months. I'm not sure but as far as I have seen. modern warfare 2 is still $49.95. it was released way before ME2. it's too soon. I know that I am glad to join more people into ME world.

Hey, by the way I am happy to get Overload DLC, and ME2 patch (1.02 finally) today. I can't wait to play it tonight.

Finished the DLC this evening, really enjoyed it, in fact it's probably my favourite DLC so far. I admit I did laugh when Shepard says "the Illusive Man can fire me if he doesn't like it" though (I already flipped him the bird after blowing the Collector base).

I actually thought it was pretty good, overall. There is a new health upgrade you can pick up in the final mission, which boosts the total up to 6, for 60% extra health. The music for it is pretty good, the combat fast paced, and had some moments that actually got me to chuckle a bit. And the paragon ending was pretty cool. It's nothing hugely game changing, but it's what a lot of people like about the game; more fun blowing things away. Though I'm still wishing the Hammerhead was more durable.

I personally liked the bit at the start with the satellite dish collapasing: 'You've got to be kidding'. But yeah, the Paragon ending is pretty badass.

Well it obviously takes place before the attack on the Collector base timelinewise.

Played and finished, very fun and love the free roam bit added in

The end was a bit sad, but like I followed through what I normally do on the Collector Base

Supposedly completing Overlord early game gives Shepard some different options throughout the rest of the playthrough, has anyone tested this out yet?

I wish they included a new weapon but overall I was happy with the purchase. The environment was beautifully designed and the pacing was good. My only gripe was the Hammerhead itself, it simply is not built for combat. Every time I faced an enemy in my HH, I turned down the difficulty to casual so I wouldn't spend ten years taking down a turret.

Yeah, the ending was sad. And my usual operating procedure when dealing with Cerberus is this: if it hurts Cerberus, I do it. Nothing Cerberus can do will ever redeem them in my eyes. Sure, they resurrected Shepard, but they had ulterior motives for that.

My most favorite parts of Mass Effect 2 are now the suicide mission and Project Overlord. To be frank, I'll take content of this quality over the likes of the loyalty quests, combined, any day. Overlord won me over primarily because it's thematically relevant to the reaper storyline. It's also well written and equally well presented. The music, dialogue, visuals - everything - was just right.

I'd love to see future Mass Effect 2 DLC and, eventually, Mass Effect 3 favor content of this quality. If it means cutting out a handful of short side quests in Mass Effect 3, I'm perfectly cool with that.

Okay. My Overlord commercial ends right ... here.

Possibly the only DLC where my jaw hit the ground. I loved it.

When the guy says "When people pray for a miracle they really hope its people like me who make the difficult decisions" (or something along those lines) I wished Shepard could have said- "No, they are praying for pepole like me" before shooting him in the leg.

Damn the ending made me soooo mad, and emotional.
