It sounds like it would make for great post-game playing. Experiments on Geth without our favorite geth teammate? Impossible.
Legion: "This platform is not available for experimentation"

He either views it as a threat to peace (paragon) or a threat to his power (renegade).Steingrimur Steingrimsson wrote...
Why does Shepard always end up as a galactic peacekeeper? Doing all sorts of crap that is highly unrelated to the Reaper threat?

Woah, talk about irony.
I wonder how it is implemented into the main game: it better not be another one of those mails that gets sent to Shep at the first possible point in the game. I'd rather have it be something post-Collector Base, if only for it allowing me to take Legion with me.
Edit: Wait, it wouldn't make any sense to get that mail before finishing Firewalker... so it's probably sent right after that. Which is a shame, because my perfect area in the "timeline" for Firewalker was after completing the Derelict Collector vessel and all Loyalty Missions up to that point (before going to Illium). So that means I won't be able to take Legion with me. After all, it wouldn't make any sense stalling a mission that important.

Yes, it's not a romance pack, an expansion pack, or the Liara DLC, but I'm more than happy to see any story-based content. Plus, another chance to use the Hammerhead is FTW. Only thing I'm hoping is that there's some commentary from the party members - that always adds a lot to the content.

The Hammerhead needs a lot of tuning to be viable (better guns, better armor, a lifebar I can actually see, the possibility to quick-save).
I don't think there will be any new voice-overs, except for Shepard and the AI. It could be great if at least EDI or Legion have something new to say.
Hopefully the story won't be as straightforward as it sounds...
Chances are I'll buy it anyway, I'm addicted at this point =/

You probably won't get that, since it'll involve bringing back all 12 actors just to do 3 or 4 lines. And that's a lot of $ that I don't think they want to spend just for a 7 dollar DLC.

Expect new lines from Jennifer, Mark, and whoever is doing the A.I. and the surviving Ceberus Op that was mentioned being there. I doubt we'll get any new squadmate dialogue.

Faced with destruction, the AI hijacks Shepard's vision, overlaying the environment with Tron-ish virtual reality grids and computerized projections of its memories. This is the most striking of the visual treats provided by the Overlord DLC, which is intended to offer something "new and different" to the main game. Overlord in general appears polished, though, with the new water surfaces on the planets and the crashed, partly flooded geth ship looking particularly good.
I wonder how that is going to work, though I suppose a semi-virtual reality would really lend itself for an epic and unique boss fight. I'm also unsure on what I would do the Overlord itself assuming we get the chance to choose it's fate (I'm pretty sure Casey confirms we can).
On one hand, I'm not keen on letting a dangerous experimental AI go freely, especially if it is able to take over mechs and geth. On the other, it appears to have a hatred of all thing Cerberus, which may lead to the revelation of the subject not having been a volunteer after all.

Could this DLC be something to do with the upcoming book, Retribution? After all, the book is supposed to include humans being joined with Reaper tech, which is pretty similar to humans being joined with geth...
I'm on the fence with it. I want to see Paul brought into the game so bad. When I first heard about the A.I. I thought it might be tied into the novel storyline. The more I've heard it seems less likely but I would imagine with the similarities there is room to atleast have someone hint at the Reaper tech too. Perhaps using whatever data they were able to collect before the A.I. went all SkyNet on their asses, to use it towards the same Reaper style research.
I'm still holding out for Paul to be a major factor in ME3, but I'll be happy to just see him in the game in any way.

I'm pretty sure Paul will have some sort of importance in ME3

i would be more excited for overload if they had a new weapon/armor or two
I'll take more story and missions over another random weapon that fires 30 rounds compared to 20 before reload or another pointless armor attachment that gives me 5-15% more of whatever.

I'm going to assume that EDI won't have any new lines as Tricia Helfer might still be voicing Sarah Kerrigan. After all, Blizzard is trying to push Starcraft II out the door as fast as possible now.PARAGON87 wrote...
I hope EDI and Legion has some input in all this.
I mean, it is an unshakled AI gone rogue, she must have some inquiry about it. I would imagine that Legion has some curiosity in why the AI would violently rebel against its creators, too.
On the same note, Ali Hillis (Liara) is also voicing one of the main characters in Starcraft II as well.
At least in the case of Helfer, getting to Edmonton to do voiceovers just means taking a drive. She lives in central Alberta after all. I'd imagine she could find time to do both that way.

This seems to me to sound like: Cerberus was messing around with Geth technology and couldn't handle it (glad I didn't give them the Collector Base), but its okay, because Shepard is their errand boy now! Seriously! For a guy that's not supposed to be working for Cerberus other than to stop The Collectors, he sure does them alot of favours.
