I agree with this. I would like to see DLC that is only activatable after the main storyline.OneDrunkMonk wrote...
Side stories/missions are OK but what I'd really like to see is something that progresses the story towards ME3.

I wonder when they're going to think "everyone is done with ME2", after the summer perhaps? Probably then we're going to get some in between ME2 and ME3 content.
This is what I love about BioWare, their games have life even without me playing it. In both a literal (Cerberus daily news, further DLC support) and figurative (able to draw you in and keep you coming back for more) sense.

Hammerhead missions.
This is what all true gamers strive for mah boi.
Totally relevant.
Honestly I'm looking forward to Overload. Just recently got money, so I'll have some good DLC to buy a points card for.

Could this DLC be something to do with the upcoming book, Retribution? After all, the book is supposed to include humans being joined with Reaper tech, which is pretty similar to humans being joined with geth...
I'm on the fence with it. I want to see Paul brought into the game so bad. When I first heard about the A.I. I thought it might be tied into the novel storyline. The more I've heard it seems less likely but I would imagine with the similarities there is room to atleast have someone hint at the Reaper tech too. Perhaps using whatever data they were able to collect before the A.I. went all SkyNet on their asses, to use it towards the same Reaper style research.
I'm still holding out for Paul to be a major factor in ME3, but I'll be happy to just see him in the game in any way.
I'm pretty sure Paul will have some sort of importance in ME3
He won't, unless of course the Reaper implants turns him evil and gives him Starkiller level biotic powers...
$#&#, I just doomed us all by putting that out there.

Very interesting, thanks for the link. It seems like Bioware has gotten back on its feet and are learning from the past (seemingly) by heading toward more story driven DLC for the future. Don't get me wrong, I like the concept of new armor/weapons, but it should be combined with the story DLC to make them feel more relevant and worth the price. Here's to hoping that Bioware can impress.TMA LIVE wrote...

It also seems like this DLC is going to adress one of my main complaints about ME2 - the fragmentation of places resulting in a much less seamless world than we had in ME1. More story, more believable locations, that does sound promising. I'm looking forward to this DLC.IntrepidProdigy wrote...

I only hope we can save while flying the Hammerhead this time. The disabled save function makes me skip the Firewalker missions in most playthroughs.

I anticipate we'll get an expansion eventually that fulfills the wishes for post-SM content. It probably will be an optional sidestory, of course, so those who skip it in their import for ME3 aren't punished, but it'll probably take into account the destruction/capture of the base and your reaction to TIM.
But couldn't they simply write two different emails? If you're post SM and you told TIM to shove it, you get an email from someone else instead, easy!

Hey, Shepard. I know you're busy saving the universe and I always tell you to focus on the mission but we totally messed up again and would like someone to clean it up. kthxbye.
-The Illusive Man.
P.S.- Someone told me you like weapons and/or armor. So I'm giving you weapons and/or armor that you'd think I'd already have stocked since you're up against unwinnable odds. Peace.

Hey c'mon, you don't need to be so nasty.
I think he does have a point. If this is tied into the main plot, it will just be through a contrivence. I have nothing wrong with a big section unrelated to the plot, but it is underwhelming considering the tone of ME2.
