I'm renting this game real soon and I'm afraid of the save game corruption as well.

I tend to save my games many times, it's just a habit I have. So I can't go over 100 saves, or my game will become corrupted? That is indeed messed up.

I'm glad this is just a rent and not a buy from me. I'm sorry to the people who paid $60 bucks for the game and they have to go through all this crap without a decent patch. :(

I was thinking of buying dlc for the game too, but to see this crud happening..I don't think so.

All my saves for my current character were corrupted today. I don't know why, it's been a while since I sold anything to a vendor so I'm not sure it's that glitch.

This is a stupid question, but I have to know. Is there any way to fix a corrupted save? I really don't want to start all over again.

The save corruption bug is probably data overwriting part of the file because the files are fixed size and it's trying to put too much into it, so no. The data that is overwritten is lost, you won't be able to get that save back.

Crap. Well, thanks for the information. For future reference, how common is this "data overiding" bug, and how can I avoid it in the future?

so far I think they've discovered, selling too much to merchants, that is overloading a single merchant with too much stuff, overloading the chest at warden's keep in the dlc and making more than 100 saves across characters. But as there is a size limitation on the saves on consoles, there could be other occurrences that have still to be discovered.

Do you mean 100 save files?

IIRC my main toon had like 12 save files but the actual save count was over 100. I havent encountered the Save Corruption so I am not sure here.

It's more than 100, but I can't remember the exact number, it was somewhere on the save corruption thread and I don't really waht to read through 20+ pages to find it again. Just to be safe though, I'd get rid of a few older saves if possible, plus it must be killing your HD space, 17mb x 100, ouch.

No, I did'nt mean that I have 100 of the 17 mb files. I had maybe 14 or something like that but the amount of times I saved (almost all overwriting old saves) was over 100. Sorry about the confusion.

So, it's somewhere around 100-150 of the 17mb save files that can cause save corruption?

Yeah somewhere in there I think, I remember reading that the person who got the corruption was sure they didn't overload a vendor or the chest at the keep. Seeing as how the save file size is set for the xbox, I'm sure there's ways of corrupting the files that we haven't e found yet as well.

No game support -> no purchase of DLC -> no need for Gamerscore updates....

I've given up supporting Dragon Age/Awakenings. It seems to me that most of the dev teams are concentrating on ME2 + TOR with very minimal resources directed to the upkeep of xbox DA. I get the idea that sometimes pushing patches through Microsoft could be a pain in the ass sometimes, but you guys seem to have no problem getting them to push a patch through to prep for the next DLC.It's a shame honestly, since I was looking forward to darkspawn, it seems to be a pretty exciting fresh take on the mythos, but for me, it's over.

Yeah, that's about where I am too, it's obvious by now that fixing the game is at the the bottom of the "to do" list, and yes considering how little trouble they dlc patches have getting through it kinda defeats the arguement that some people are making about it being MS/Sony's fault. This game is now a lost cause sadly, although it would be nice to be surprised with a real patch that  fixes some of the outstanding bugs.

Loathe me to say it I'm afraid I too am at the end of my rope as it were. I'd rather play Fallout 3 for the umpteenth time than wait and hope that I'll actually be able to finish Awakenings, I have no desire to waste what little money I have these days when I don't get adequate returns.

They'd hide behind the EULA which is what they always do when they release a bug-filled piece of sh*t. I hate the EULA and greedy as f*ck companies that exploit it to cover up their sh*t testing and support for the games they make. I don't even have the words for my disappointment, Bioware is dead, EA killed them, if this is the level of support that we're gonna get, then I think I've bought my last game from them.

So I'm a little confused here. There still is no fix for DA:O and its been out for nearly seven months?

They are rushing out ME3 and DA2 not to mention the star wars MMO, I honestly doubt there is much in the way of resources being put into fixing this game after this long. Seems all the money goes into dlc, which would be fine if the major issues still present since day one had been addressed. This game really died for me after losing over 240 hours from save corruption, not to mention I've been waiting almost seven months to make a pure archer....

best archer ive made was a cunning heavy rogue with song of valor up.you can get like 40-50 dmg per hit with a long bow....doesnt even need to be legendary....but it may take a long time with the character not being able to do much the first 10 hours of the game.
or a str heavy warrior....doesnt feel right but can get decent damage...im also sad no bug fixes...no love for x box...within the first week pc gets patchs....oh well...

Ever since the title update was installed, I cannot finish Awakenings. I kill momma over and over again but it won't complete the final auto save, and so she still livesin virtual infinity.

I would love it if I could organize every single Xbox gamer to only RENT Bioware titles instead of buying them. Xbox 360 versions of their games generally sell more than the PC counterparts and receive far less support. It is unacceptable.
