I've bitten the bullet (no pun intended) and just hacked both onto my Adept. Ironically, I've still no idea which sniper I prefer - the Viper or the Widow. They're too different for any meaningful argument about which is 'best' to be made.
The Viper is more flexible, better suited to defence stripping and better suited for many targets.
The Widow is better for traditional sniping and killing bosses.
Hard to say which is more useful.
