EDIT:  Forgot this is the no spoiler section.

And to avoid spoliers, no that is not what happens.

No, Cerberus was experimenting with AI technology, and somehow geth got involved.   The AI and the geth merged and thus the s*** hit the fan.

Ah I see. Damn you TIM

Sounds pretty damn cool. The fact that it's set on a single planet and you have to pilot the Hammerhead in between indoor locations / missions, it's fully voiced with conversation trees, a story and supposedly 2hrs30mins long then cool. Should be nice to tide over until we get the Liara DLC which I assume will be significant.

EA has revealed the next significant paid add-on for Mass Effect 2. It's called Overlord and will be available in June for 560 Microsoft Points (£4.80/€6.70).

Overlord presents a storied mission based on a hub planet, according to IncGamers. The new Hammerhead tank will transport you from mission to mission. There are no new weapons and no new characters, just the story of an evil AI ordering robots around.

The content will apparently last around two-and-a-half hours.

IncGamers - http://www.incgamers...2s-overlord-dlc

BioWare has revealed that we'll see another Mass Effect 2 DLC pack next month.Titled Overlord, the pack sees Shepard and co going through five missions on a planet where experiments on humans and Geth have been taking place, in an attempt to stop a strange human/machine hybrid intelligence. The Hammerhead vehicle will function as your means of transport around the "hub" section of the planet, between the missions. We've been told to expect a bit more of a horror vibe from the DLC, as well as bits that go a little Tron. It's all about the stand-alone story and the extra missions, though: don't go expecting new characters or new weapons.Overlord is due out in June for 560 Microsoft Points, according to exec producer Casey Hudson, and will apparently feature about two and a half hours of content. We've got plenty more details on it, so stay tuned for our full preview and our chat with Hudson.

Hopefully very early June. I just started a new playthrough yesterday, and I don't want to but it on hold.

I doubt it'll feature any new squad dialogue, regardless since it's a 5 step mission there's no reason to give 10 of my guys some legwork (unless we're able to switch characters mid-mission or something)

Yea this is the kinda **** we been waiting to see. bring down the sky esque missions, but i guess this time we'll have actual scenery to look at instead of a bunch of asteroids :) FireWalker, Kasumi, and Zaeed were all cool but i kinda feel that they woulda been better received as a lump sum pack. This kinda seems like it'll be sorta that, just without the added party members and weapons. (Although I do kinda wonder if it was originally on the plate to put some of the equalizer gear or even the arc projector and cerberus assault gear in this pack at all?)

I also wonder if when the dlc plan is finished bioware will do a "special edition" version of the game with all of the dlc content integrated into the game permanently, maybe even tieing the dlc armors and weapons into some form of an unlocking system? (Shop, building from minerals) Actually i do kinda wish the dlc gear needed to be built, starting a new game+ and being given 5 suits of armor, 5 helmets, 2 heavy weapons, a shotgun, assault rifle, and sniper rifle right along with my new normandy....it's really a cool feeling yeah but man if they keep giving us more and more it might feel like overkill if they don't start tieing more of them to missions and such o_o

Looks badass so far, and if the Norwegian article is true and it's over 2 hours, that's even better! I'm just looking forward to Mako style exploration again, but with the hammerhead.

Its been said by BW that DLC is planned for ME2 up to the release of ME3, so I'm not sure if they will release a "platinum edition" or anything that includes "all" dlc - maybe most, but all seems unlikely.

This looks awesome, but if I may switch into Debbie Downer Mode for one second, I'd be seriously surprised if the Hammerhead sections are Mako-style exploration maps. I'm expecting more something along the lines of the part on Noveria where you needed it to get from one area to the other, but it was linear.

Which is fine by me, I always preferred that anyway.

Maybe it'll be more of a cross, like there'll be hidden offshot areas but it'll still be a prime art assets constructed path that DOESN'T use geometry deformation :)

Hopefully not as restricted as Noveria, but yeah I can't see the Hammerhead map sections being Mako style exploration maps. I'd love to be wrong though!

Hopefully IncGamers post their in-depth impressions soon along with their interview with Casey Hudson, it should shed some more light on it.

So I assume, this'll come before E3... and then at E3, the SB DLC reveal. Please.

This one is pleasantly surprised. It was honestly expecting the announcement to be the long anticipated Appearance Pack #2.

This one sends its regards to BW and is definitely planning on picking this up.
