No, Cerberus was experimenting with AI technology, and somehow geth got involved. The AI and the geth merged and thus the s*** hit the fan.
Ah I see. Damn you TIM

EA has revealed the next significant paid add-on for Mass Effect 2. It's called Overlord and will be available in June for 560 Microsoft Points (£4.80/€6.70).
Overlord presents a storied mission based on a hub planet, according to IncGamers. The new Hammerhead tank will transport you from mission to mission. There are no new weapons and no new characters, just the story of an evil AI ordering robots around.
The content will apparently last around two-and-a-half hours.

BioWare has revealed that we'll see another Mass Effect 2 DLC pack next month.Titled Overlord, the pack sees Shepard and co going through five missions on a planet where experiments on humans and Geth have been taking place, in an attempt to stop a strange human/machine hybrid intelligence. The Hammerhead vehicle will function as your means of transport around the "hub" section of the planet, between the missions. We've been told to expect a bit more of a horror vibe from the DLC, as well as bits that go a little Tron. It's all about the stand-alone story and the extra missions, though: don't go expecting new characters or new weapons.Overlord is due out in June for 560 Microsoft Points, according to exec producer Casey Hudson, and will apparently feature about two and a half hours of content. We've got plenty more details on it, so stay tuned for our full preview and our chat with Hudson.

Yea this is the kinda **** we been waiting to see. bring down the sky esque missions, but i guess this time we'll have actual scenery to look at instead of a bunch of asteroids
I also wonder if when the dlc plan is finished bioware will do a "special edition" version of the game with all of the dlc content integrated into the game permanently, maybe even tieing the dlc armors and weapons into some form of an unlocking system? (Shop, building from minerals) Actually i do kinda wish the dlc gear needed to be built, starting a new game+ and being given 5 suits of armor, 5 helmets, 2 heavy weapons, a shotgun, assault rifle, and sniper rifle right along with my new normandy....it's really a cool feeling yeah but man if they keep giving us more and more it might feel like overkill if they don't start tieing more of them to missions and such o_o

This looks awesome, but if I may switch into Debbie Downer Mode for one second, I'd be seriously surprised if the Hammerhead sections are Mako-style exploration maps. I'm expecting more something along the lines of the part on Noveria where you needed it to get from one area to the other, but it was linear.

Hopefully not as restricted as Noveria, but yeah I can't see the Hammerhead map sections being Mako style exploration maps. I'd love to be wrong though!

So I assume, this'll come before E3... and then at E3, the SB DLC reveal. Please.
