So, is PhysX installed? Even though it's from Nvidia, it is supposed to be there. Check for it under "Programs and Features" in the Control Panel.

Yopu want to play this game?  Get it and install it, or forget the game.  Real simple.

The one on the game disk works fine; why not use it?

Get rid of patch 1.03; it's full of bugs.  Uninstall, then stop with 1.02A with the reinstall.

Here's why:  PhysX doesn't have to be handled directly in hardware.  DA uses it as a physics engine.  If your card supports PhysX, it'll give you better performance because the engine can just pass stuff along instead of calculating it itself (and consuming CPU time in the process).  It's not really any different than a card lacking hardware support for, say, OpenGL. You can still run stuff that uses OpenGL, it just won't run as fast.
