Just finished the DLC. My thoughts (and SPOILERS!) below:
1. The graphics look even better.
2. Big events are great. The explosion of the sattelite dish was excellent. I'd have liked some kind of quick time event when I have to outrun the falling beams or something, but otherwise, no complaints.
3. The voice of the VI was annoying. It really jarred the whole experience.
4. Why wouldn't my squadmates talk? They were mute the entire time.
5. The hammerhead AI voice is annoying, though he does have some amusing lines.
6. I liked how you experimented here. The Frogger section (leaping onto different platforms floating down the lava river) was a nice surprise. I died easily twice here, but was thankful I didn't have to restart a fair bit back.
7. The Hammerhead dies too easily. I was used to the Mako from ME1 which could be tossed everywhich way and come out without a scratch. Couldn't drive the thing over anything but flat ground, but at least it could take a beating. Hammerhead feels too weak. And it's missiles dont feel powerful enough either.
8. I also liked the floor puzzle. At any moment I was thinking that I might get a portal gun. I couldn't help myself by shooting out the cameras.
9. I'd have liked the option to shock enemies in the water. There was quite a few water pools around and this would have really been enjoyable. Or perhaps shooting out a electrical component so it could fall into the water and shock enemies.
10. I loved the elevator section towards the end. That freaked me out and I really liked the atmosphere in that final area.
11. The "matrix zone" (you know what I mean) was awesome. I'd have loved to do it with my squad though. Why were they precluded?
12. When the VI kept messing with my mind with the doors closing on me, and the accessable doors changing around - I really liked that. The game could have definitely benefited from some more head spins.
13. The 2 achievements are nice.
14. The other planets were devoid of anything interesting.
15. Would have liked something to take back onto the ship to highlight my trip. Maybe an option to purchase a miniature hammerhead for my cabin? Or a poster for my cabin of the planet? For such a beauty, you spend a far greater time indoors and would love to have a memory of such a natural place. Even my Hammerhead VI wanted me to check out the view.
16. The automated turrets weren't challenging enough. Although they were easy to kill you (due to Hammerhead's weakness) they didn't pose much threat. Would have liked to see them moving or something.
17. Hated that giant cannon that kept trying to keep me from entering the building. I liked the idea that I had to trick it to blast at it's own barriers so I could finish it off, but it was a little voracious in it's attacks and the area wasn't large enough to move around freely.
Thats about all I can think of. Overall, Overlord was very good. I'd give it an 8/10. There was enough content to be worth the asking price, there was enough variety in the action to make it worthy of my notice, and there was enough atmosphere to really make the assignment enjoyable. While it didn't go all the way and there were a few small things I disliked, Overlord was pretty memorable. Can't wait to play Lair of the Shadow Broker.
