Can they suffer the same fate as much of your crew at the end of the game?

Chakwas: "... Why... why did it take you so long, Commander? I'm the only one left."
New Guy/Gal from Overlord: "Actually, I'm still alive too."
Chakwas: "You could have saved them if you got here faster. I had to watch everyone die."
New Guy/Gal: "... except me."
Chakwas: "It was horrible."
New Guy/Gal: "Why will no one talk to me?! It's like I wasn't even planned to be around!"

Crew members, not squadmates.DaBigDragon wrote...
There are no new crew members. They've said this already.
The Normandy could use a new janitor.

I killed that thieving bovine bastard in ME1. That had better had been captured in the save file.

Maybe the new crew member IS the Shifty-Looking Cow.

If the SR-2 was upgraded with a brig, and its only inhabitant is Shifty, then most definately!

The new crew member could always hang out in Shepard's bathroom. He/she'd probably be safe from the Collectors there.
That would be soooo undignified:
<Shepard and the team return to find everyone except Joker and the new guy gone>
"So Joker, you helped EDI save the ship, running through Collector-infested corridors and crawling through ducts, despite your Vrolik's syndrome. New guy, where were you during all of this?"
"Uuummmmmm...hiding in your bathroom...like I always do..."
"Rrriiiiiiggghht, we're going to have to discuss that later..."

However, I would like to know if many of us are wasting our time hoping for Liara/Shadow Broker DLC, just a little hint BioWare, is that too much to want?
yeah id definately get more excited about dlc if i knew this would eventualy come out even if it wasnt for a while at least id know whether or not to get my hopes up.
this overlord thing looks ok will probably get it but doesnt particularly bother me one way or another hopefully there will be some good dialogue not just shoot outs for the 90 mins of the dlc

While announcing a Liara DLC somewhere in the future would ease a lot of concerns, they'd be pressured to rush it.element eater wrote...

It's just like announcing a patch:

Well, first, you're welcome. We do listen to our fans and try to keep them happy./images/forum/emoticons/smile.png
As for why didn't we say a patch is in the works, because this often causes problems. Yes, by not saying one is in the works we do have to listen to people complaining we are not patching or are not listening, but in many ways this is better than the alternatives.
What alternatives? Well, the usual "You promised a patch, where is it?", "You promised a patch, it better fix MY problem or I will hate you forever", "You promised a patch, and I still don't see it", "So that patch you mentioned, I still don't see it", "When is it coming", etc, etc.
In other words, they've noticed that there is a huge amount of impatient posters on the forums, but there's fewer impatient troll posts when they just don't announce anything. What alternatives? Well, the usual "You promised Liara, where is she?", "You promised Liara, it better make up for everything or I will hate you forever", "You promised Liara, and I still don't see her", "So that Liara you mentioned, I still don't see her", "When is the Shadow Broker DLC", etc, etc.
In other, other words, he's saying "If you stop acting like children, we'll stop treating you like children."
All we have to go by right now are the sound files and triggers left in the game.

Not to mention that even a Geth Trooper can kill the Hammerhead incredibly fast. With a rifle that's designed to take out shields.
End of rant.

I was hoping they'd let us at least leave the vehicle so we can stop and save (emphasis on at least).Someone With Mass wrote...
I just hope they can fix the Hammerhead, or at least give us some upgrades for it. I mean, sometimes when I do the Firewalker missions, I think: Wow, this would get done faster if Shepard & Co just stepped out of the damn thing and did the rest of the mission on foot, because Shepard can take more damage than the Hammerhead can. And no amount of circle strafing will save you from a Geth Colossus/Prime's machine gun.

Although in Mass Effect 1, when I did a complete playthrough, I'd leave the Mako every time to shoot for two reasons:
1. With armor/weapon mods and Immunity on Insanity, Colossi and Maws did no damage to me, but ripped the Mako apart if you didn't keep moving left and right to dodge (or up and down with the Hammerhead)
2. You get more XP if you get the killing shot outside the Mako

SHEPARD: Dammit Kent, I'm starting to get really tired of you always hiding in a bathroom or a supply closet whenever the Normandy comes under attack.
KENT: But Superman showed up and saved everybody, didn't he?
SHEPARD: Superman?! Who is this Superman?!
KENT: Aw crap.
