Finally, a Bring Down the Sky for ME2!

Please keep in mind that if this DLC turns out to suck, it will be your fault for raising your expectations. Not saying that it will, I'm just saying as of now Bioware doesn't have a marvelous track record with ME 2 DLC.

This goes for everyone. If you pump yourself up, and get disappointed, you can't complain to Bioware for sucking, because for once, they didn't hype this one up as much as, say, the Bazaar. I suppose they learned their lesson, eh? Although, there will be many people cmplaining AT Bioware if it doesn't meet their expectations.

Here's to hoping that it is the next Bring Down the Sky.

Here's to simply being happily drunk!

How long it takes to play always differs a bit from person to person. One press site in Norway (I think? One of those Scandinavian type countries) took about 2.5 hours to play. My first playthrough was almost 2 hours (but I'm pretty awesome at ME gameplay), so I would estimate at somewhere between 90 - 150 minutes give or take.

Why are people saying that the Hammerhead will be involved? I don't see that in the description here or on the ME2 main page. Is there more info out there or are people just assuming this?

Still sounds interesting, however. Won't be coming out until June so there's still a significant wait for this one.

It was said that all the missions will be on the one planet.  The hammerhead will be your transportation in between

Nice, this is the kind of DLC I'm interested in. More story stuff like Kasumi. You got my $7, Bioware!

I wonder why we have to work for the most incompetent terrorist group in the galaxy:whistle:

LOL.  This pretty much puts the nail in TIM's coffin for me.  Either he's evil and letting this stuff happen on purpose, completely incompetent or just bugf*ck nuts.

That's good, I've been looking forward to more time with the Hammerhead. Thanks.

Depending on the amount of dialogue, I wouldn't be surprised if it took me 6 hours to complete.

Finally some proper dlc. Good times.

Also, any word on the Incisor rifle being released? It would be very awesome if it came out sometime around the Overlord DLC.

I can't wait, I wish they'd make a HUGE expansion, like 20 hours worth though...Then i'd be in Heaven :o

This'll do though for now :P lol

I hope they announce a huge expansion pack at E3. You know, most publishers like EA, want to have at least one special surprise at E3.

Now no one is really complaining but

$60 +7+7+2+2 = $78

With more still to come the total cost of the game will probably end up in the region of $100+ if you buy everything. Yes we got stuff free and its decent and appreciated, but personally I think $5 is more reasonable or even $6 (for things like Kasumi or Overlord), why?

because 560 MS points means you have to buy a 1000 point card........this price was intentionally set for that specific reason.

Of course people need to be paid, but there are other machinations at work than the salary of employees.

Now so far for $18 dollars (~1/3rd of the original cost) we have been given a few costumes, 2 helms, a squaddie, a new weapon, and roughly 3 hrs (+/- an hr) of gameplay.

from a micro economic level only you the consumer can determine if that content is worth $18 or not especially balanced against the value of the original game, but to chastise people for $7 is silly and uncalled for

It's not as if the points disappear.

Also not as if you will NEVER find anything else to spend them on.

I look at it pretty simply: Spend the $20 when I have it and the leftover points add up to a nice little "bonus" for when there's content I want, but don't really have a $20 to drop just then. Basically, I paid for Kasumi before ME2 came out and I'm cool with that.

I agree with u about the 1000 points card!
Also about the armor and weapons my opinion is
that they should have been free!
But for a designed level that takes a while to create i think its normal to pay 7 dollars!
P.S i live in europe and games cost here 60euro+

Quartermass and Raiders of the Lost Ark are such seminal pieces, ever since they came out, bad guys "meddling with powers you can't possibly comprehend" has been a genre staple.

I like the plot of this DLC. It looks like they've covered their bases in terms of Legion's loyalty quest. If you've already rewritten the Heretics, then the Overlord is corrupting a small group of geth. If you haven't, then Heretic Station is an unofficial coda to this whole affair. So either way, there's some blowback.

For a long time I've been wishing that ME2 had a villain to fight that figured into more than one mission. Harbinger's a solid "big bad," but you don't really fight him. Just about everyone else is punked out about 5 minutes after they're introduced (or reintroduced, in the case of Harkin and Nassana).

Looks like I get my wish here, with Overlord causing trouble for 5 missions, Harbinger himself only figures into 4. But the talk about them all being on 1 planet makes it seems like you're required to do them all at once. I hope their's a way to space them out to some degree and still make sense plotwise.

Maybe this will tie into missing pieces of Sovereign and/or Daro'Xen's evil plans.

I know a lot on here would rather have Liara/Shadow Broker or some missions in the Local Cluster, but IMHO, this adds a bit of cohesion to the currently isolated Geth missions.  The seeds have been planted for a full-fledged Geth subplot:

Firewalker
Haestrom
Anomalous Weather
Imminent Ship Crash
Overlord
Treason
A House Divided

Sounds good so far. If it's gonna be longer than Kasumi at the same price tag I would be impressed.

If the Hammerhead is gonna be involved I hope it's integrated somewhat with Firewalker, because it would be stupid to have the Hammerhead (a unique vehicle if I may add) if you did not even complete Firewalker's first mission. Firewalker is 'free' so why not integrate it at least that much?

I hope there's gonna be some dialogue involved on the part of Shepard and company, though I'm not expecting it.

Maybe a suggestion for next time, mister Priestly and the rest of Bioware: maybe you should have made this announcement along with the release of the Equilizer Pack. Might have saved you a lot of pages full of criticism.

Already stated that there is no new weapon/armor if you read the review posted here.
