I wonder if the second alternate appearance pack will be released with this, like the first was with Kasumi's DLC. And also, what about that armor from the arc projector screen that shepard is wearing?

Possibly, but Major Nelson in his blog post stated that the only other new thing available will be avatar items onJune 17th.  There isn't anything official yet on new appearance items.

Another DLC that adds 1 or 2 more hours to the gameplay, but nothing to the main story, great.

The "bridging" DLC is coming.

Honestly, you expect random DLC to contribute to the story of the main game? Kasumi and Zaaed both had choices that will obviously affect ME3, but were they connected to the main plot of ME2? Of course not, that would be silly and it would force people to buy DLC in order to complete the game.

Just going through 5 levels killling a bunch of heretic geth controlled by a rouge VI.

It's not out yet.

I wonder when the ME2 team will stop treating us fans like babies that can be kept happy by puting candys in their mouths and seriously start working in a good expansion pack?

Yes, I'm sure that Dr. Ray is up in his office going "our fans are so stoopid".

If the DAO team could make an expansion pack in only 4 months, why the ME2 team can´t?
I refuse to believe they´re not up to the task.

They are up to the task. They gave us Kasumi, Hammerhead, and Zaaed. All major accomplishments as DLC.

Jason_53 wrote...

Why is dumb to ask for an expansion pack?
I backed my reasons with facts anyone can verify.
Remember all we had to wait until BDTS for ME1, and later that fiasco of Pinnacle Station?
And that was all we got for a game we all loved.

BioWare owes you nothing.

As for complaining, well, that´s everyone´s right.

It is, but don't expect people to take it lightly. Complaining =/= criticism.

Also:

Opinions =/= facts.

a) I have never pretended that Bioware owes me, or anyone of us for that matter, anything, but I remember they promised a lot of DLC for ME1, and we all know what happened.
B) I agree with you about Zaeed and Kasumi but I have the Collector´s Edition (preordered on 11/2009) and in the art book you can see a very good picture of the hammerhead, wich they describe as a modified mako so I wonder if they held that back from the original game just for offering it as a "promotion" later.
c) I took the Overlord description from the Bioware page so I´m not inventing anything. In fact it remains me of the "Rougue VI" mission of ME1, if that is so, there´s nothing new under the sun.
d) The Equalizer Pack offers the Inferno Armor, an exclusive  preorder bonus; that made a lot of people very unhappy because I remember that someone in Bioware said that exclusive content should stay exclusive. Hence my comment about children and candy. I did not pretend to call anyone stupid.
e) I will keep asking for an expansion pack, even if I´m a single voice claiming in the desert or a peasant sowing in the sea. If we all raise our voices asking for an expansion pack, Bioware will have to listen. After all, we got Tali an Garrus as LIs in ME2, a request that the old ME1 forums are full of Posted Image

You are (not) alone !.!!

So far, I have been pleased with the DLC released for Mass Effect 2.  While Overlord sort of screams "filler", I am glad Bioware is keeping to its promise of regular DLC.  The way I see it, we have the "Bridging DLC" coming sometime in the future and I'd rather see some more fun stuff here and there than a big streak of nothing.

Besides, the DLC is usually optional.  Aside from the upcoming Bridge, there hasn't been DLC that is really necessary to the game.  However, I will say, that I would like to see less helmets and more armor pieces.  Then again, I'm still waiting on the patch that lets us toggle our helmets on the DLC armor.

My only *problem* with the DLC is the stupid, stupid Hammerhead! I really, genuinely miss the Mako, it was virtually indestructible compared to the Hammerhead. There is still one part of the Hammerhead DLC I haven't done because I keep getting blown up, which makes me wonder about buying Overlord, it is no good to me if I can't complete it :-S

Maybe your real "problem" is, you keep repeating the same mistake during combat. Change your playing style, use covers, etc. It should be fine then.;)

Oh, I hadn't thought of that.............................. I've only been gaming for over 20 years, DOH! /sarcasm <_<;)
Yeah, I've done all that thanks (I'm not daft) I just can't get past one small part on one of the missions, I am by no means alone on this I know plenty of people who have had the same issues with the hammerhead being flimsy.
I know you are trying to help :) but unless you are going to come to my house and actually do it for me, that mission is going to remain unfinished, I play to have fun, not bang my head against a wall, if I want to do that I'll try talking to my teenage kids ;)

I will abstain from checking this thread till the 15th, unless on the 15th the DLC is released, then I will instead be playing ME2.

IIRC other things have been released at the same time for Xbox and PC. But Christina Norman linked to an Xbox site in her Twitter when she announced the date. So, dunno but hope it'll be released for PC on the same day. I'm looking forward to it.

I had the same problem. The hammerhead armor is so weak that even a mosquito sting sets the vehicle on fire Posted Image

However the guided missile system is very acurate, has a very long range (far greater than the geth´s weapons) and fires very quicky.
So now every time I play those missions I engage the geth from a distance, no need to get up close and personal.
Just wait until the screen shows them, put the targeting reticle near the target,  fire and let the guided missiles do their work. The geth never know what´s hitting them Posted Image
The planet with the acid pools was my worst headache until I learned how to manage the weapons system, now I finish it without taking a single hit. The same goes for the last mission with the pop up turrets, in that case tou need to move a little more but you can drop them with 2 or 3 hits.
I hope this helps you

Actually, Jenova is right. The Hammerhead's armor is very basic -- at least compared to the Mako's, which was more or less invulnerable. But I agree; playing a little more methodically with the Hammerhead makes it all better.

Hammerhead missions were easy cause the AI was stupid. I always get on about 5 km range and shoot self-targeting rockets til they die - you only need to get the angle. :I and that is boring. I really hope they fix that and give more shields/armor.

The reason the Mako had better armor/shields, because it was a heavy tank. The Hammerhead is a light, hovering and experimental vehicle. They require different playstyle, and personally, I love that. It's two completely different experience.

The only issue is with the Hammerhead is the lack of HUD, but I bet that'll be fixed in Overlord.

I appreciate good action and if they give it a decent story, i"ll appreciate it --but I don't see how they're making a 5 level dlc ( that's not cheap at 560mp) without any new teammates,, crew members,, upgrades,, armor,, weapons, or even a new gadget for the captains quarters. I like coming through dlc with something to show for it in-game, and those extras collectively add to personalization and re-play.I thought Kasumi's was great (very much like one of the better Bond movies) and it offered upgrades, weapons, and a character. The downfall-for all the work and detail put into the mission it could easily have been a great deal longer, and Kasumi and Zaeed's backstories and personalities had potential they came out very b-movie. Also, I know they're not important at all to the story of ME2, but when you're interacting with them on the ship, they(personality-wise) seem as deep and interactive as the plot to The Toxic Avenger Goes to Japan, and hell, I like the characters-they just seem 2-D and could have been more fleshed out. So, I will be disappointed dropping $7 or whatever, for something that could be thrown together with a level generator. Also everyone is right about the hovertank, does it have to be made of combustible space -tin foil, when they actually refer to it as being a far superior vehicle and weapon then the Mako. If it was a car it'd be a......scratch that, if it was a vehicle, it would be a effin mo-ped with some baloons strapped to it. Can anyone answer the logic of it mining something by hovering over the general vicinity of it and having an epileptic seizure til a microwave dings? What is that? Seems like it should be in Crash Bandicoot or some similar kiddie game, I'm honestly surprised it doesn't pull up rings or coins and occasionally angry anime moles..

personally i like the hammerhead way more than the mako its 90 times eaiser to manuver and control the gun does not overheat and you dont have to wait for for the main cannon to reload. and its way quicker than the mako its also rewal nice that you dont have to wait a long ass time for rediculous repair sequence.

I also think Miranda is an annoying self-obsessed weiner coozie, and if you actually pay attention to her self involved ramblings she's explaining shes such a space-skank because her dad made her take bubble baths with him and play find the worm whilst pretending to be a very hungry fish.Seriously, no B.S. I'm no psychologist, but I hold these truths to be self-evident. Tali, on the other hand, is a cool chick even if Muslim chicks would think shes way overdressed and she's got the digits of a Simpsons character with a ghetto tinted fishbowl over her head. Oh,and then there is always her space-aids. Tali is girlfriend material if shes willing to get sick a lot, Miranda is a hit it and quit it, that is as long as you properly slap down her ego, so she'll shut the hell up about how shes cursed with goddess-like features and intelligence, and she has to bear the cross of having improvement to all function mod implants that make her superhuman. I swear to god I went to high school with her, and she looked like a Tim Burton nightmare version of Chelsea Clinton(remember that mug?), and the personality and intelligence of Rainman and Bret Michaels female butt baby. So i definetly believe her story of the illusive man putting billions of credits into her "perfection", and somehow I doubt he would spend that much w/o puttin a little illusive man in her too. P.S.If anyone takes this seriously and gets offended, you really need to go find out what fresh air and sunlight are.
