The weapons may not be in OL, but whos to say they wont release another Equalizer or Cerberus Assault type set at the same time or soon after, Im sure they wouldnt put out pics of new items if they arent planning on adding them at some point, i mean, they know just how much we scrutinize announcements and pictures

I hope they are in OL, but ill be just as happy for a new weapon/armor pack in a week or two

I dunno - there was armor in the arc projector pic that we're STILL waiting for.  There was all kinds of clamoring and "when are we gonna get it," and Chris was all like "oooh, that's new is it?  Well maybe we'll tell you about it soon," ..........aaaaaaaand nothing yet.

Well, keep in mind E3 is coming up soon.  My guess is they'll probably announce a big DLC thats a couple months away and something small in the interim so they can play up the continual stream of DLC for ME2 by saying we're releasing Overlord now, and here's something new (and small) that will be coming out real soon and here's something big to look forward to (the rumored Liara DLC perhaps).

Well, it would make sense they would give us a new gear pack now that their first "bigger" dlc is to be released. It would give it some value, since a lot of players (myself included) will start a new playthrough when the Overlord comes out. And, if there's new gear to go along with that, it certainly carries a lot more value than for example the Equilizer pack that was released out of nowhere and no one really cared about it.

I mean, what kinda dumb **** dlc model is that anyway? Release random micro dlc when no one cares about it, and release bigger dlc content with no new gear whatsoever. Because it makes sense, right BioWare/EA?

Anyway, I do hope there will be some new gear on Tuesday. If not, I'll be a little disappoint and just enjoy the Overlord I guess.

The M5 Pistol was sent from Cerberus to Shepard......but Kasumi stole it, so you don't get to use it. =[

That Geth Gun has three barrels, the Geth assault rifle wielded by your standard Geth Trooper has one.  Geth Rocket troopers wield your standard missile launcher, Geth Destroyers wield Firestorm flamethrowers, Geth Primes wield upscaled Revenants and (the one I think you might be confusing this gun with) Geth Hunters use Scimitar shotguns.  So that Geth Gun is definitely new as well, although its presence may only indicate a new Geth unit, not a new weapon Shepard can use.  Indeed, since the screenshot appears to be from the Overlord DLC and since the Devs have sadly said that Overlord won't include any new guns my guess is that Shepard won't be able to use it.  Although there is the possibility that it might come out as DLC after Overlord or that the Devs have taken note of the dissapointment over the lack of new gear being packed with Overlord and decided to throw in a new gun.

So there is potentially a new Geth Gun (shotgun, assault rifle, or maybe a heavy weapon from the looks of it.), the "M5" weapon Kasumi is wielding which appears to be a new heavy pistol.

Plus there are the new N7 armor pieces which were spotted in one of the new screenshots which were released way back when they announced the Arc Projector; but which have yet to be released.  On top of that the developer posts on the forums seem to indicate that they'll be releasing the Incisor Sniper Rifle as DLC pretty soon as well.

Still, I just wish they'd release a Vindicator with a higher ammo reserve and a black finish on it.  I love my Vindicator; but it really sucks down the ammo on hardcore and insanity.

Yeah, on closer inspection it is new.

In ME1, some of the geth (I think the rocket ones) have a different gun - very much in the style of the geth pulse rifle, but not just a bigger version - it had blue glowing parts on it.

I assumed it was that - but as I said, looking at it closely, it IS different.

Veeeeery interesting...

You're right about that one, the Rocket Troopers use a different looking Geth designed gun in ME1; but not in ME2.

Microsoft announced the 15th date.....that means that it is done, finished, out of the devs hands and past certification......this DLC WILL without a shadow of a doubt be out on tuesday. This is exactly what happened with the Darkspawn Chronicles DAO DLC just a few weeks back.....Microsoft announced its release and nobody even knew what it was at all.....then some days later just before release BioWare came out with a trailer and announcement except that we already have an announcement for Overlord so they won't say anymore until it is released.

Unless Microsoft is a branch of Bioware's marketing team them making an announcment means absolutely nothing.

And there was trailers and a significant amount of info about the "Darkspawn" DLC long before MS said anything about it. The "Overlord" DLC has 1 interview from Casey Hudson and the initial announcement on this board, that's it.

Do not expect it to come out on Tuesday.

You underestimate the degree of control Microsoft has over anything released over Xbox live.  What one can infer from the blog post claiming that the DLC will be released on the 15th is that it was at the time of the blog post (June 10th) scheduled to be published onto Xbox live on the 15th.  Bioware can always delay the release at the last minute if they feel it necessary; however it seems odd that they would allow things to progress this far if they were not at least aiming to release Overlord on the 15th.

Given the facts my deduction would be that Bioware has planned to release Overlord on the 15th; but they haven't gotten all the bugs hammered out yet.  Thus they haven't made a public announcement yet so that if they fail to hammer out all the bugs by the 15th they can delay Overlord at the last minute without causing a major uproar.

Since we do not know how buggy Overlord is at this point there is no way of predicting how likely it is that it will be ready by the 15th.  However; since Bioware had not already informed Microsoft of a delay on June 10th it can be infered that on that date the Bioware programmers must have felt there was a good probability that they could deliver Overlord on the 15th.

So I'd give it 60% odds it comes out on the 14th, 40% odds it has to be delayed.

It has obviously passed MS certification if Major Nelson is announcing a date so no, i would not be surprised if it was released on the 15th. People complaining about lack of info/trailers - guess what is happening on the 14th? Yeah, the day before this is scheduled to be released, the EA press conference at E3 is happening. If a trailer is not released before or during then, then maybe people can start worrying, otherwise i think it is all steam ahead for the 15th.

That's all fine and well but Bioware wouldn't leave the promo of this DLC to Microsoft. There has been literally zero info about this DLC, 2-3 pics, no trailer, no official info aside from this thread started a month ago....why Bioware would rely on Microsoft to tell people "hey, it comes out in 4 days"....that makes no sense. Especially considering it's DLC for PC too.

This DLC was announced a month ago. Why would they hold off a trailer for E3, a month later, and the day before it actually comes out?

That makes sense to you, on any level?

Well yes it actually does make sense - if there was going to be an ME related announcement - such as an expansion, spin-off or even ME3 - then it would make sense to release a trailer for the DLC with that announcement yes? Wouldn't it be better for EA to come off that announcement and say "oh hey - you can also play some new mass effect 2 content tomorrow". Remember that during the EA conference call that there is a"far reaching" ME game slated to come out Q1 2011, so this thinking does have some merit because E3 would be the place they would make a ME related announcement aimed at the Q1 2011 timeframe.

As I said, the fact that Bioware hasn't announced it indicates that they are still hammering out bugs and are still uncertain that they will be able to make the intended June 15th release they scheduled with Microsoft.  That's why I included a 40% probability that the DLC will not be ready to release by the 15th.

As you said if Bioware was certain the DLC was ready they would announce its release date themselves; but by the same token if they were certain that they weren't going to release it by the 15th they would have informed Microsoft of the change of plans.  Thus the facts would seem to suggest that they are in the late stages of hammering out the glitches and will most likely either release the DLC on the 15th or will delay it for a few more days.

I would remind you that they've already announced the DLC and hyped it, so they really don't need to spend a lot of time hyping it after they announce a release date.  Indeed, I'm sure the marketing department could easily spin a sudden release announcement into something like "A surprise for the fans.".

Yeah I don't know what to make of it - maybe the guy at BW responsible for updating the forum/website is on holiday. Or maybe Microsoft have got confused (again).

I reckon its a 50/50 chance for a release on the 15th.

no one seems to be picking up on the fact that EA and Bioware have already confirmed that DA2 and ME3 will NOT be appearing at E3 as suggested by gamespot, but have said nothing about the DLC NOT being released on the day of there press conference.......

surely if it was wrong too they would have said something..... so keep those fingers crossed for the 15th people......

No offense but I'm reading why you guys think it's coming out the 15th, and what you think Bioware's logic is behind not saying anything about it, regarding Microsoft, or E3, or whatever....and it doesn't make any sense to me, or add up.

Again, no offense but it sounds like wishful thinking. I hope you're right because I'd like to play the DLC on the 15th but this kind of misplaced optimism is what makes these boards go berserk when Bioware doesn't deliver on what people assume they promised. If for whatever reason it doesn't come out on Tuesday I can see this board exploding with rage about "OMFG BIOWARE SAID THE 15TH!!!1111" then though they never did, and no official announcment happened.

I trust Major Nelson. XboxLive has a schedule of dates when things have to go live and be sold. If Nelson's schedule says Overlord will be on xboxlive on the 15th, I think that is going to prove accurate.

Why would you like to see a trailer? That's just an expansion pack.
