Dual wielding is an iditotic idea that pops up from some 12-year old kids because they have seen some coolest movie in the whole funcking world to them and now every game should use dual wield.

Dual wield in ME? HELL NO!

Shepard is a real soldier not some teenage power fantasy jammed in a tin can. Real soldiers don't use crap like dual wield.

And no for swords or any medieval weapons for ME too. They have no place in the future combat.

And as for giving harsh feedback, if some one makes a bright idea in line with: "Heyyy derp, lets go drink us some paint! Derp!" it is my civic duty to slap that bastard in the face and say: "No! Bad retard!". And by the way suggesting dual wielding is more retarded than suggesting drinking paint.

Edit: typo

This just made my afternoon thank you:D

Even Halo is moving away from the dual-wielding fad, and I'm glad for it.

I hope BioWare tries to keep the characters professional by not implementing dual-wielding.

Dual wielding is superfluous at best and a waste of ammunition at worst. It's nice to have the option to do it in those emergency occasions but I think if there are to be any future improvements in a ME game it should mean bringing crouch back and having a big enough combat environment to implement prone in combat.

@ Sphaerus Because dw anything with a high kick back would knock the arms off of anyone that isn't Chuck Norris?

My shep shoulder fires an anti tank sniper rifle that has enough recoil to turn him inot paste. Your argument is invalid.

Edit: just so everyone knows, this post is for humor, I'm not Trollin'

Even Halo is moving away from dual wielding. When even the developers of Halo think something is over the top stupid, it is.

It was a cool gimmick back with Marathon/Goldeneye, but the focus on aiming has completely nullified such a mechanic unless you are playing with a Light Gun

Everyone is always so hung up on practicality and realism that they forget about fun. This is a game people. The entire premise of the ME universe is not realistic period.

I for one would endorse dual wielding, but only for NPCs like Thane. Cmon, the guy was trained to kill from the age of six. Looking at the trailers and the in-game scene, Thane is nothing if not stylish in his execution.

for entertainment purposes.

Duel wielding would not be fun with Mass Effect 1 or 2's set up.  Duel wieldiing is floaty and imprecise.

SInce the combat is beginning to resemble shooter games more, since Thane is seen dual-wielding pistols in the Blur Trailer, and since you can dual-wield pistols in the Halo 2 and 3, why not consider implementing dual-wielding of pistols in ME3?

Rule of Cool supersedes logic here. I support dual wield, at least for character that could "realistically" pull it off, like Thane. I draw the line at Max Payne-esque slow-mo diving (tho the game already has slow-motion, mmm...).

Why do people keep coming back to Halo? It's not like they invented something new (I wouldn't know, I never played one for more thn 15 minutes).

Oh, and Blasto should Octuple-wield !

Call me old fashioned but I HATE the idea of duel wielding and If I never saw it in a game ever again I can't say I'd be disappointed

I agree. I can't tell you how stupid dual-wielding would be.
HEY GUYS I KNOW USING BOTH MY HANDS TO UTILIZE MY GUN IS PROBABLY FAR MORE EFFECTIVE, ACCURATE AND INTELLIGENT THAN WIELDING A GUN IN EACH HAND BUT WHO CARES THIS IS COOL.
Has anyone in real life actually fired a pistol in their life, let alone two at once? Accuracy and combat effectiveness flies out the window.

PROTIP: no, they're not. Quit learning gun physics from games.

For Shep, it would be stupid, but I agree with others that I wouldn't mind to see it on new or established squadmates

They can already hit an apple off a Collector's head at 1000 yards with a Tempest. I'm pretty sure dual wielding pistols, at the least, is going to affect their accuracy in any way.

no, i've never seen the appeal of dual-wielding weapons other than the fact that "it looks cool."

Well, according to Sam, "double the gun, double the fun" seems to be the logic behind dual-wielding.

I'd like to see a good mesh between Mass Effect 1 and Mass Effect 2.

Sure the combat in ME2 was more fun, but when looking from a realistic standpoint it doesn't makes much sense to have cover universally laid out in a block/street pattern.

Erm, cover was even more senseless in 1. For example, enemy bases had cover layed out to protect invaders instead of defenders.

No, it just seemed that way because the AI liked to land face first into the barrel of your gun.

Actually, pirate bases had cover centered in a defensive circle around the entrance door, with platforms on which you could climb on the inside of the circle. Make of that what you will, but it doesn't seem particularly logical to me to put up defenses against a door while simultaneously giving whomever comes through that door higher ground.

I wasn't even speaking of mechanics, I was speaking of aesthetics.

But whatever.

Please learn how guns work before posting this kind of drivel. Real shotguns handle nothing like they do in games, in real life they are accurate as hell.

And yet again NO DUAL-WIELDING.
