When you truly see Morrigan's charachter for what it is, I lost all appeal for her:

Lying (lies to you for a year straight, and omits a pretty big thing aka Archdemon)
Cold, hates other people and laughs at other people who are suffering Alister and girl in Redcliffe
Arrogant, listen to her banter with Wynne
Selfish, every other companion is their to help, on an oath, or doing it for atonement, she is their for the OGB nothing more.
B#tch, everyone else in the party does not like her, outside of Dog and possibly Zevran

To me I can not see how anyone can believe that Morrigan actually cares for the Warden after all this, and being lied to. If you truly love a person you would tell them about their almost certain death. I am glad I never go through with the Dark Ritual and get to watch her face crumble.

And let's not even forget that Awakening epilogue has the Warden go in search of Morrigan regardless of our wishes.

So what we want isn't really relevant here. As long as you've romanced her in Origins you're bound to go after her, whether you like it or not.

Only if you don't bring her back to friend-status by talking to her post-ritual.

Giggles_Manically, well, it depends on current character you're role-playing. My character which romanced Morrigan was a blood mage, he lied a lot (to Leliana after he defiled Sacred Ashes without her for example), never hesitated to kill for any profit, abandoned people of Redcliff to die (they offered no money), killed Wynne, so of course he liked a woman with similar opinion of life.

And of course it's hard to expect that such selfish arrogant dick will let his passion go away with his God Child.

That's a bug in romance flags.

I'll not get into details here, but you can find them yourself in the Morrigan topic.

Terra_X fixed that problem in her Morrigan restoration patch.

It's only a problem if you want to go chasing after her. If you don't then it's a good way to stop the epilogue from forcing your hand.

It doesn't come down to what you want.

If you romanced her you're supposed to go after her at the end of Awakening, same as a Warden who romanced Alistair and became queen will go back to Denerim.

The devs never intended for you to avoid this. The only way to actually avoid that epilogue is to exploit a bug in romance flags back in Origins.

You can break up with her at any point in the story but you can't accept her breaking up with you? I don't know what the devs intended but to me it comes across as 'you want to stay with your LI so you go do that.' And if Alistair is King and you're still the LI you made quite the effort to keep it that way.If you haven't broken up with Leliana or Zevran (which you can do even during the attack on Denerim) then it makes sense they stay together. If Morrigan leaves and you're okay with it then why should you be forced to stalk her?

Well, I'm telling you that if the flags in Origins were working as intended you would get the "Warden went after the dark-haired sorceress" epilogue regardless of what you choose to do at post-coronation. People who checked the toolset said that is how the whole thing appears to be set up. The fact hat it got messed up somewhere during the development and doesn't import properly into Awakening is besides the point.

And honestly, I have no idea why the devs would make you go after Morrigan by default. I can think of a number of potential reasons but have no proof to back nay of them.
Maybe, because they believe that is what people who romanced her would do?
