That's the only thing I ever respected of men of power, tyrants or dictators. The way the ascended to power.

Start off by rallying local warlords in africa together with the promise of land. After taking over Africa, execute all warlords for treason/ use them as local governors. Complete industrialization of africa. Form new axis with a bajillion third world countries. Invade a country that nobody likes (maybe communist) and ask for foreign aid from the U.S. Get aid. Share supplies with axis of third world countries to further industrialization. Next part is a little fuzzy... unsure. After that you win!

I would develop nanotechnology that would self-replicate and infect the brains of people. Upon entering a victim's brain, the nanobots would project this on an infinite loop into their minds, until the victim was driven to insanity. Then I would come, turn off the infinite loop, and tell them I am their saviour. Then the entire population of the planet would worship me, and if anyone tried to resist my absolute rule, I would simply reenable the loop and drive them into insanity once again.

The release date of the nanobots will be 2013, because if it was 2012, some annoying person could tell their friend "Oooh I told you the world would end in 2012".

hehehe, yes, and to add, slowly gather followers, then send those followers to convert even more, eventually building churches next to schools to brainwash children at an early age, while accepting donations to fill the bank.

Well if you're going to build 30,000 nukes you'd better get started, gather all of your uranium tetra flouride, put it in a bucket on a rope, and swing it over your head until the isotopes separate.  You said you're making enough for 30,000 so this may take awhile.
You may also want to hire some goons to help you for in case your arms get tired.
