So I started this the other day....I want pure power... so I planned to plug strength, dex, cons as much as I could... warriors don't really need magic, will, or cun right?

I built a 2hd weapon warrior dwarf with beserker and champion. I pumped points into str, dex and con only. He can't talk the talk but who cares when you can cleave enemies in two with strikes up to 180+ damage. It was a very fun build! If you want 2 swords you have to go for speed rather than the sheer damage of 2hd weapon.

Ignore Constitution and get a good set of heavy armor. Your major stat here will be Dex at first, with Strength as a secondary. To get all DW talents, you need 36 Dex, and 42 Strength to wear the highest armor.
Throw a couple points into Willpower now and again, because DW have a lot of activated talents that are very useful, but can also autoattack to good results if you run low on stamina.

Wow. Ok I totally get why strength and dex are musts for a warrior....and ignore the others... but what's with constitution?
I mean I see players that say its valuable... and others not so much
I'm just curious
Oh and will for stamina? Cool!

36 dex, ~30 willpower and rest in strength and you are a killing machine
anyway const didnt save your life because your defence isnt high enough

Basically, Con is useful at low levels, but high dex = high defense > high con = higher health. With a good set of armor and a high defense, you're not going to be taking much damage at all, and what you do take, you should be able to absorb because your fights will be shorter due to your ability to dish out a lot of damage really fast.

So strength + willpower + dex= killing machine??
Oh and I'm assuming max out the DW skill tree then??

You'll want to max out the DW tree and the first branch of the Warrior tree for sure. DW doesn't really have any useless talents. Specialization-wise, I'd go Berserker first, for the Strength boost and the damage bonus.
By the end of Origins, my Dual Weapon warrior took out an Ogre Alpha and a Hurlock General while the rest of my party was still working on their regular Ogre.

Uhhh what's the first branc of the warrior tree again? and hwo do you get specializations like beserker??

Posté 14 mai 2010 - 05:19
The first branch of the Warrior Tree includes Powerful (increased health and reduced fatigue), Threaten (maintains aggro on single target when attacking), Bravery (bonuses across the board to damage, physical resistance, mental resistance, and crit chance), and Death Blow (restores portion of stamina whenever you kill an enemy).
Berserker is a specialization for the Warrior class that can be acquired in one of two ways: buying a manual from Gorim in Denerim or getting Oghren to teach it once his approval is high enough to agree. You get a specialization point at Level 7 and 14. Berserker gives a +2 Strength and +10 Health just for taking it, and unlocks the Berserker talent tree.

I'm currently doing something similar, but I'm sticking to daggers for faster attacks, and instead of putting all excess points into strength i'll put them into dexterity. Templar and Champion for specs.

heh! I am doing much the same currently, but I am playing a Rogue taking the Duelist/ Assassin specs. Even scores for STR & DEX, wearing Cailan's massive armor, and first time I have saved everyone in Redcliff on Nightmare mode. Not bad for a reported bad build.

Willpower doesnt do much for Dualwielders, really.
Its like they said - Dex 36 and rest into Strength. Thats your maximum dps.
Alternatively, light armor, max Dex, and go for daggers. This will give less dps, but brilliant defense ratings.

DW warrior/dual swords has a lot of useful abilities, that is not rogue (dex or cun) they can stabbing enemies 90% of the time, so in my opinion at least 30 willpower will give a bit more dps with momentum and/or dual striking still has a few free stamina for a long fights like brood mother or maybe high dragon (healer requied ;p )

probably better take a rogue? =) stealth is still best way to control your dps, or maybe a feigh death ( 5 min CD but who cares hehe )Gecon wrote...

Does anyone put that many points in con? Most tank guides I see tell you to avoid it =/

hmmm well.... I its 16 to max out coecerin... I don't think it'd hurt that much... would it??

But you get 5 cunning points in the fade, so don't put points into cunning

I´d recommend: 42 Strength (for best armor), 36 Dex, (for all talents) 16 cunning for coercion (Use fade bonusses; gives 5, so you only need 1 point if you do mages quest early) 20 will (enough for permanent use of the good talents).
Afterwards, more str when you use swords, more dex when you use daggers.

Spell resistance. Knight Commander plate from frostback mountains gives 40%, amulet from your camp merchant gives another 30%.

dual weapon sweep, whirlwind, holy smite with berserking is pretty fun too bad holy smite crashes ur game all the time lol. i've made 2 dw warriors the best route i found is sword/axe mainhand, dagger offhand get 42 strength 36 dex, then after that go 2 strength 1 willpower
and yeah templar+knight commander plate+spell resist neckpeice+key to the city+2 8% spell resist runes and 1 10% runes = 100% resist lol. though u will have some fatigue since no set bonus, but doesnt matter since u will have a highter willpower as a templar anyways

i dont think what a templar spec is good at all, champion or reaver is much better imo, all of templar's abilities are willpower based, i'd prefer to use whirlwind or punisher or riposte or if youre champion a warcry which knockdown all of mages =)
tbh ~60% of magic resist w/o knight commander plate is enough and youre get a set bonus like - fatigue plus a few more good stats on the armor
ps. for DW warrior is much better to get superior wade dragon scale armor and evon the great's mail, my main 2h was weared full cailan plate, and i would say wade's stuff is da best

So where do I pick up good armor fast? My CEF just got to Ostagar.... and lets face it armor sucks early on I do the quests in this order
Circle Tower
Redcliffe Castle
Ashes Quest
Orzzamar
Dalish Elf
So how would I get the plate armor from Orzzmar etc... if that's last? Usually I run around in this mixmatch chainmail....
